About this deal

If it was never published! VERY Disappointed in Hay House. I thought they had more integrity that publishing this junk. Since I can remember, I have always been a sentimental girl. Holding tightly to any possessions which reminded me of childhood memories, holding tightly to people I have met in my teens, even though I no longer felt any meaningful connection other than shared memories. It has negative consequences for your mental health, physical health, mood, and level of happiness. It’s somewhat surprising that an author who talks about accepting negative emotions also says we should focus on positives, which is useful only up to a certain point and it’s an otherwise pop-psychology myth.

I believe things, people, and events meet us precisely when we are ready to receive them. I did not look for it. The practice found me. Our need for conceptual understanding is the crutch. It’s best to not overthink this whole letting go thing.Ringrose believes that typically, letting go comes at an acute pain point, when holding on hurts more than moving on.

feel tremendous resistance to doing this, and that’s what makes it so powerful. As you relax and feel the resistance, the heart will want to pull away, to close, to protect, and to defend itself. Keep relaxing. Relax your shoulders and relax your heart. Let go and give room for the pain to pass through you. It’s just energy. Just see it as energy and let it go.” Agnes made a promise to Ellie that she would help scatter her mum's ashes at the top of a mountain/ However, the promise was made when Agnes and Ellie were still dating and madly in love. Yet, when the time comes to spread the ashes, Ellie's dumped Agnes and has brought new boyfriend Steve along for the journey. If that was not awkward enough, things get worse as a storm rolls in and the mountain becomes treacherous.Agnes was a protagonist I immediately connected to. I mean, she’s basically just established as a homebody who wants to stay in bed all day eating and sleeping and thinking about the girl she loves which is top notch relatable content. I really liked her as a character, though, and enjoyed reading her story. There are myriad lessons and topics for contemplation in Letting Go, but I will share a few of the principles that were most interesting and applicable for me. It also aligns with Buddhist non-attachment theory, which is how Melbourne researcher and psychotherapist Dr Richard Whitehead came to the concept. It’s written in an easy-to-read conversational tone and full of metaphors, anecdotes, and humor. Further, it’s divided into many short chapters, so it’s perfect for reading a chapter and then contemplating it. But that’s not to say that there is nothing good in “ Letting Go“. The Pathway of Surrender can be freeing and, indeed, help many people’s mental health. Review

How to Vote

Last year, he attempted to give people an answer, in the form of an online course, which he says was greatly inspired by Hawkins’ book. As a huge Clarke fan I wanted more - perhaps Agnes can have a spin-off story in a much larger book. It certainly takes commitment to go through it and do all the exercises, but the rewards will be plentiful if you do. At least for me, they were.

He exemplifies the human condition in such a direct and obvious way, that sometimes you can just be in awe of our capacity for self-inflicted suffering. The only thing that becomes obvious to me here is that the “obvious conclusions” are simply the author’s very own thoughts. 3. Psychic, Lies &“Scientific Proof” So I'm holding off on actually rating until I finish the audio book...but so far, I am deeply unimpressed. This book would be about half it's actual length if you cut the lists to manageable size and removed the outlandish claims (such as it being able to cure allergies). It usual riddled with false claims about auras (debunked) and other New age claptrap. The premise of this book--letting go of negative feelings--is a good--if not excellent--premise. The first chapter's hook is thorough and humorous. Lownds is a fine narrator. The execution of this book, however, is a step short of complete failure. Does it need to be 12 hours long or is it one idea with a lot of infill? It needs to be 12 hours long.He weaves his decades of work as a psychotherapist and consciousness researcher together with spiritual principles and his own and other people’s experiences.
