Magic spells take many forms, avail themselves of many powers, and depend upon various elements, tools, and components. Some of these elements, tools and components occur naturally on Earth, whilst others are crafted by people. Sometimes these elements and components can be categorized neatly into categories and sometimes, magic being the unruly, disobedient force that it is, they overlap and merge in a surreal dream-like manner. The witty commentary peppered throughout the book adds an enjoyable and comical touch. I can't help but giggle at the author's personal anecdotes and the snarky remarks regarding some of the less successful spells. Just remember, folks, when transforming loved ones into rodents, proper caution is advised to avoid unleashing a plague of unleashed mice! Before any spell is cast, the initial requirement is that you have a personal goal. What do you want to achieve? What do you wish to prevent? What are your secret desires, your deepest fears? Magic spells are always cast for a purpose, even if it's a generic one like "personal happiness," the proverbial "peace on Earth," or obtaining vague "good fortune." The more specific your desire, the more clearly articulated your vision, the deeper your passion, the more likely it is that your spell will work. There is not one type of spell that is inherently more powerful than another; there are only spells and styles of spell-casting that are more effective for a specific individual. Part of the fun and challenge of spell-casting is finding the spells that best suit you. I've given it a 4.5 because when reading through the spells, a lot was unclear. For example, I can't remember what the spell was, but it had something to do with placing underneath your partner's side of the bed... but... for how long and what are the side effects once it is removed? After seeing that I saw a lot of the spells are like that. Do the thing, and leave it __. Then it moves onto the next spell. It's a big book, so I can understand the instructions being short here and there - and there definitely ARE spells that say "leave _ for _ nights and then...", but other than that, I'd say this is a good book to have. It's definitely a fun book for a writer (which is the reason I started buying these books when I was younger) who wants to have a better understanding over their character interested in this world or anyone who wants to learn about different religious beliefs outside of their own.

Alas, my fellow seekers of arcane enchantments, this book doesn't quite fulfill that particular wish. But don't despair! The Element Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells offers a treasure trove of knowledge on a wide array of magical practices. From spells for love and prosperity to protection and divination, it covers spells that cater to the deepest desires of our mystical hearts. You really need to read the beginning of the book both to know the context of the spells as well as the disclaimers since some of the spells are not meant to be casted and only kept as a record and utilize potentially dangerous substances. Do your research. The spells are not meant for beginners and the magic in the book is so diverse most adepts will learn something from it too as well as the context of the spells The sources And cultures she draws from aren’t necessarily respected or even understood. I have learned a lot about Ancient Greek religion and history and the things she says about Ancient Greek Gods and history are... well out of context, spun to fall in line with the authors personal beliefs, and are incomplete. She also calls the Gods spirits several times. They are not spirits, they were not considered spirits. The Ancient Greeks believed in Spirits there is a very big distinction between a spirit, a God, a daemon, and Nymphs. She talks about syncretism and how Aphrodite was associated with Anahita but Anahita was also associated with Athena for being war like as an example of why syncretism is confsuing which would be great except that Aphrodite was also a war Goddess. She has epithets that literally refer to her as “the war like”

This is the magical equivalent of a prize and inspirational cookbook: nothing is too basic to be explained and yet sophisticated tastes as well as emergency situations are catered for. TLDR; menstrual blood and bodily fluids are dangerous to handle and spiritually tainted in most cultures and beliefs, the claims about menstrual blood seem very odd to me, you should read the beginning of the book for your safety and to better understand the spells Access-restricted-item true Addeddate 2022-10-12 01:01:08 Autocrop_version 0.0.14_books-20220331-0.2 Bookplateleaf 0002 Boxid IA40734813 Camera USB PTP Class Camera Collection_set printdisabled External-identifier Born in New York City, my metaphysical career began early: My first encounter with tarot cards at age six was also my first experience of love at first sight! That passion still burns true.
