About this deal

Incantation of the Two Fingers' faithful. Increases magic damage negation. This incantation can be cast while in motion. Follow the path that has been set for you, and you will make enemies of all others: the monks, the sorcerers, the ancient dragon knights, and the scions of gold. Heed me – the Lands Between offers no welcome to the Tarnished. It’s hard not to wonder why he chose these names. Paul is ironic and Eve’s is somewhat fitting. The hallucination of Eve is trying to deceive character Paul and really acts like the serpent and the Father of Lies, tearing him down and trying to get him to see how terrible he is.

A strange town,' Christopher continued. 'In my dreams. People are… people are odd there. I know how crazy this sounds. But… I think I saw my parents… I think they lived there. It’s a dark place, that’s the only way I can put it. Dangerous. In my dreams I can walk, I can talk properly, I’m free. And there’s an old man with me, a man named Jarrad. He shows me the truth behind the town. He shows me the people for what they really are. They’re not what they seem to be.' He took a beat, and Leo waited. 'At least once a week, for two years, I’ve had this vision. It’s not a normal dream. It’s something else. I wanted to tell you… Because he told me it was important.'" Jesus, he said. He rubbed his eyes and his forehead – he still had a dull throbbing headache. How many more people could this thing have affected? Here are some great reads that I would highly recommend that will affirm faith in God and following the Bible, and defend the truth. It is not irrational. It is not a crutch. it is not a lie. It is not a myth. It is real. It is true hope, and if you fall prey to the seeming conclusion of this book you will miss out on everything and you will not be better for it. He realised that it wasn’t just Eve who’d left him for good. His faith had departed as well. He shook his head in disbelief. He saw through it all— God, Christ, the Bible. Somehow, he knew it now. The whole lot was made up—just myths and fairy tales. None of it was real and he was unable to accept any of it. He had no doubt— it was clear as day and he felt cold and empty.”

Eve like the first woman who was deceived by the serpent and handed the fruit to her husband who ate of it and sin entered the world. Seeing the cover and releasing it to the world is exciting, although a little strange. It’s a small step towards revealing something that I’ve kept to myself for a long time. Yes, the story took a while to write, but the core idea has been with me for a lot longer. It stems from my life growing up in rural Wales. For much of that time, I lived in a Methodist Chapel house. My father was a lay preacher, and faith was all around in our household. Rather than be indoctrinated, I somehow ended up on another path, realizing from an early age that I was an atheist. The son of an immortal god and a mortal princess, Dionysus’ role forged a crucial link between humanity and the divine, serving as a force of cyclical, unbridled nature who drew men and women out of themselves through intoxication. In that sense, Dionysus, a genial but wild and dangerously ravishing intermediary, represents one of the enduring mysteries and paradoxes of life. I have much to respond to about the ‘religion is a lie’ aspect but I’ll save that for the end of the review and I hope you read or scroll that far.

The clarity that your time is all you have is the greatest gift anyone could eve receive. It puts you in absolute control. Without higher power, your fate and destiny are in your own hands. That is true freedom.’ The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism by Tim Keller (covers common objections to Christianity and presents arguments for God) Paul like the apostle Paul (Saul). Saul was persecuting Christians until he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus. Then he believed and went on to write a good portion of the New Testament defending faith in Christ. Cured of his madness, Dionysus continues to travel, and he is not alone. In many of the tales surrounding him, he is accompanied by an entourage who worship Dionysus in a state of drunken revelry, holding lavish festal orgia (rites) in his honor. Among them are nymphs called maenads—also known as the Bacchae, or bacchantes, who form the crux of his traveling retinue (the thiasus). In conclusion: I had a lot of fun reading The Faithful, and being my very first experience with Hayward, I can't wait for more. It had a touch of Lovecraft, as well as the lovable ol' good versus evil trope that never gets old. My complaints were minimal; nothing was overly detrimental to my enjoyment. BECA PAPE writes in her newsletter, "I have reached 40% of my support in just 7 months of traveling! God has shown Himself very real and powerful on my behalf, and I am so excited to see what He has in store for the future!" My words are in italics. Confronting Jesus: 9 Encounters with the Hero of the Gospels by Rebecca McLaughlin (on my TBR for this year)

In an event that causes all the people of the world to lose consciousness for but a moment, faith is gone - everyone is an atheist, and anyone who had strong faith before is left bereft. The event's cause is unknown, but some believe it's the doing of a powerful External Force, and are willing to commit acts of violence in its name against those who still bear symbols of religion... And, no, faith is never restored. It’s just everyone accepting that this is the world now. Even by the end of the book that’s all there is. There’s nothing after death. God was really a lie and the only meaning in the world is how they commune together and support each other. We thank you for your interest in our ministries. We are so glad that you are here. You are among many readers who come from various walks of life. The setting for the story is perfect. Small country towns can be scary (I know, I live in a small country town). Add in crazy townees, monsters and cosmic shenanigans and you have the basis for a great story. Matt does a wonderful job of making it feel like the town is closing in around you as you read, the climatic scenes in the town especially. The Otherworld, another dimension used in the story is creepy and at times beautiful. Now, I'm not sure if I am just burnt out on "modern horror" but, The Faithful, unfortunately, will not be making that list for me.

I can’t really think of why you should read this book. Unless it leads you on a path of truth seeking and you read some apologetics book afterwards. In hindsight, I'm not sure if I'm burnt out or what, because that sounds like as rad of a synopsis as any. Plus everyone lives by faith. If faith disappeared did that mean that people lost faith in each other? That people didn’t have faith that people would follow the rules of the road? They lost faith that their bed wouldn’t collapse when they laid down? Or was ‘religious’ faith siphoned off from the rest? And is that possible? The Egyptian god Osiris, for instance, was equated with Dionysus by the Greek historian Herodotus during the fifth century B.C. By late antiquity, some gnostic and Neoplatonist philosophers had expanded the syncretic equation to include Aion, Adonis, and other gods of the mystery religions. Scholars also note links between the life-giving wine of the Dionysian cult and the centrality of wine in the Christian Eucharist, as well as parallels between the Greek god and Christ himself. The sixth-century B.C. classical cult known as Orphism centered on the belief that Dionysus was torn to pieces and then resurrected. Twentieth-century thinkers such as James Frazer saw Dionysus and Christ in the context of an eastern Mediterranean tradition of dying-and-rising gods, whose sacrifice and resurrection redeemed their people.
