About this deal

The whole Windsors series, Forever After All, Professor Astor, and Bittersweet Memories are narrated in duet style, whereby all of a character's lines are read by the same narrator, regardless of the chapter's point of view. Narrators include Sebastian York, Joe Arden, CJ Bloom, and Maxine Mitchell amongst others. When Luca Windsor’s secretary suddenly quits her job shortly after his family forces him into an unwanted engagement, he sets out to solve both problems. i just did not feel comfortable reading this after that whole exchange. i found it such a foul exploitative thing to do, literally anything else would have sufficed as a catalyst to spur them into this arranged marriage. but since Luca had very obvious ulterior motives from early on, it was easy to see he was willing to do anything to get Valentina... The classic secretary-boss trope felt fresh under the pen of CM. She knows how to add little elements and great declarations to move along the plot. Other than that the depiction of the FMC’s depression and a struggling partner trying to be there to ease that heartache was beautiful to me.

You were never a pawn," he says, his voice soft. "You were always my queen. Everyone knew it but you." I worked day and night, through weekends and holidays, to the point that I don't even know who I am anymore..."Like the way he treated Faye was exactly how I want to be treated in a relationship!! He was so sweet and gentle to her in the beginning, reassuring her and showing her how committed he is how pretty much obsessed he is with her in the best way possible! He literally treated her like a goddamn goddess!!! I literally wanted to Faye so badly throughout the course of the book…

luca is my absolute favorite kind of hero. he’s dominant, possessive, a billionaire, and ridiculously hot but he was soooo down bad for valentina. like boy was obsessed and he didn’t even know it. the way he encouraged her and believed in her work was so hot. i can’t. he was just such a good main character.

What To Read Next

Now that I know about the fire she keeps hidden deep within, nothing less will do. Before the night is over, I'll make those beautiful blue irises spit fire." Regardless of the books being very similar, so much so that I have compiled a list of similar themes/kinks/affections, I still liked it. I like the premise of the series and I like the attitude of the characters. when Valentina’s grandmother goes missing, Luca is already using his resources to find her but Val doesn’t know this. so she goes to him to make a deal and says she’ll stay on as his assistant (since she had handed in her resignation which Luca was viciously resistant to) if he finds her grandmother. instead, he says he’ll find her if Valentina marries him. I really hope the next book is completely different from the first two, or at least in the ways that matter to separate it from the first two books. Regardless, I will keep reading this series and I definitely love the Windsor family and their arranged marriage traditions. In this particular book, there was an issue in chapter 69 for me. Luca describes Valentina to be wearing leggings and a t-shirt, and then when the spice scene begins suddenly he is taking off a dress? Just shattered my fantasy of the moment.

And the way he was obsessed with her?!?! God help me… literally changing his favourite colour to her eye colour, getting over his hatred of listening to the piano because she is a professional pianist, learning everything about her, supporting her in every aspect possible… just being the most perfect husband ever!!!! First I have to deal with f****n* Ben, and now this f***e* appears out of nowhere. Maybe I don't keep my wife busy enough, if she has time to attract all these f****n* fruit flies.' First of all, SHOUTOUT TO ELENNA for basically deconstructing the issues of a marriage of convenience novel in the space of one conversation! When she talks to Luca and explains why Val might be holding out on her emotions towards him I was so happy lmao because why can't everyone tell the main characters that lool. That ruined my one of my favourite sub-trope about a boss chasing an employee cause they're too good at their work. Most of my audiobooks are narrated in duet style, so the narrators both read all their character's dialogue, regardless of the chapter's point of view During the day: If you have a flexible schedule, you may find it helpful to take breaks during the day to read a book. And just like that, they get married. Also, just like that, out of nowhere, he completely changes and starts to treat her like a queen. Or something.

And just when I again thought it couldn't get worse…He manipulated her into marrying him. The full picture of the situation is: Luca is engaged to another woman, chosen by his grandmother, and he doesn't want to marry her at all; and Valentina's grandmother—the most important person of her life—,who suffers from Alzheimer, goes missing and in a moment feeling desperate, Val begs for Luca's help, promising to do anything he wants in return. Only that he already had people looking for the elderly lady, but she didn't know that. So he took it as an opportunity to convince her to marry him, telling this is a way for him to escape a marriage that is condemned to never work and for her to have access to the best healthcare for her family. I will be honest in that I think the heroine took matters a bit too far in her resistence against Luca. She also is a ice queen and too stubborn for her own good. I do wish we could have seen her show her vulnerabilities and heart to Luca a bit earlier in the book. She is his secretary, she’s cold and closed off and a mystery to him. He’s very much intrigued by her and has been in love with her pretty much since the beginning of the book (we love) but he makes a mistake that causes her to distance herself from him. He grovels sooooo good for her forgiveness (boy was that satisfying to read about). Once things start to get better between them, he gets arranged to get married…The Windsors and Harrisons agree to a merger — on one condition: Zane and Celeste must marry each other. Faye joins the incredible Windsor woman club with Raven and Valentina. I absolutely adored her. She went though a lot in this book and she handled everything with so much grace and class. I loved that we got to see a relationship with her and her sisters in law. This series is so good at showing friendship and familial bonds. I literally cannot say enough nice things about Faye. Firstly I would like to thank catharina maura for sending me this arc in exchange for an honest review ❤️ THOSE ZANE AND CELESTE CRUMBS?????? I literally cannot wait for them!!! I love second chance romance so much and I can just tell those two are the cream of the crop when it comes to second chance. I NEED IT NOWWWW!!!
