About this deal

Due care is required in these circumstances and the use of the devices may need to be modified. Where appropriate or if you have any concerns, seek the advice of a medical professional. Simply put, you’re getting a pretty powerful suction out of this thing. Even at first level the suction is pretty robust. No chance the device falls off once you’ve hooked it onto your body. If you do it right, the stim output on the Theracup will be more than adequate for your needs. My recommendation is to use the cups on the upper body and the pads on the lower body, as I found the lower body (my thighs, in particular) just didn’t receive enough electrical current to stimulate the muscles when using the cups. Stim pads The included stim pads work great and are top-notch. The larger, rectangular pads are great for the lower extremities, while the smaller, circular pads work well for the arms, shoulders or other smaller areas of the body.

As mentioned earlier, the Theracup is a stim device that strikes me as being designed to be relatively straightforward while keeping hassle to a minimum. And while I can appreciate this, it can also, perhaps, be a bit limiting. There are very few names when it comes to muscle and body recovery that have proven to be as effective as Therabody. I won’t lie to you, I am an unabashed fan of Therabody as a near-daily user of the Theragun Mini. The Theragun Mini is to this day, perhaps the best massage gun per dollar spent that you can buy right now, and my leg muscles can attest to that. While the company is largely known for its line of high-quality massage guns, Therabody has continued to expand its scope; releasing new products that cover the entire spectrum of recovery. One of the latest releases from the brand is the Therabody TheraCup.Short press the suction (middle) button to begin cupping. Short press the suction button to toggle through the pressure settings (low, medium, high). The Theracup provides up to fifteen power levels for varying the current intensity when delivering muscle stimulation. Whether or not you feel the maximal output will be enough for you will depend on a few different factors:

Once comfortable, turn ON TheraCup™ by dragging the MasterSwitch slider to the right. The battery status LED shows that the device is ON. In theory, it looks like a robust device – but is it? TheraCup promisses vacuum cupping therapy via suction combined with heat and vibrations. Is it working? If you want the Theracup to provide lots of therapeutic effects through tissue decompression (i.e., the cupping aspect), then you’ll likely be disappointed. But if you simply view the cupping aspect as a “fun little bonus” and are more interested in the electrical muscle stimulation aspect, then you’ll likely be more than satisfied with the cups (as is the case with me). What I enjoy about the Theracup I’ve been testing out the Therabody TheraCup for the last few months and will take you through my thoughts on the device here. But first, here are the specs you need to know about. As much as for athletes or hard-working people, the body naturally needs healing from many stresses and pressures that can feel uncomfortable. From muscle aches to general body pressure and anxiety, we wish that we could be able to release from all those negative things our bodies experience. Massage sessions or even cupping therapy sessions can be very costly and time-consuming.Of course, in any situation where you experience serious pain or discomfort, it’s important you seek qualified medical advice before attempting any treatment, but if you’re looking at a tight muscle, a home cupping device may be rather helpful. But you’d need high-tempo vibrations for even better effectiveness, which the TheraCup doesn’t seem to have. Granted, they advertise 1800 to 3000 shakes per minute in the manual, but somehow, the vibrations are gentle (even to the 3 rd setting). They are not quite as effective compared to the suction-heating combo. As I found out, solid green means that you’ve either just turned the unit on or selected a new mode (in either case, there is no current being delivered).

Admittedly, it’s not necessary, and I understand that adding these features would likely increase the cost of the device. However, not having to count how many times I hit the button to increase or decrease the stim intensity to know what level it’s on would certainly be the most welcomed feature for me. The final verdict: is it worth it? We are assuming Therabody only included the vibrations to provide a soothing effect to help you relax. Other factors (with ANY muscle stimulation device): Additional factors that can also extensively influence how much stimulation you feel or how much your muscles contract include surface impedance on the skin (due to dirty skin, etc.) and the amount of subcutaneous adipose tissue (fat tissue beneath the skin) in between the stimulation electrode and the muscle itself.Decide where you want to apply the treatment and place the cupper (choose one of 3 cups included with the device).
