It should be noted that Camryn is near powerless at night. I loved watching the rally at the end, and Twitch's murmuration plan was amazing. This could be a fantastic TV special. I'd love to watch it on screen! But reading it was amazing too, and I really enjoyed it, and I think kids will really enjoy.

As Twitch tries to uncover the truth about what is happening at Aves Wood, he unwittingly puts others in danger. It’s up to Twitch and his friends to catch the criminal and right a wrong. While at Alex's apartment, the Darkness arrives suddenly and chases them throughout the home. The sisters use their magic and barely escape. Camryn is now freaked out, and doesn't want to have any part of their destiny. She leaves for her birthday party on Earth. Alex feels as though she was abandoned, and goes to Coventry on her own. She meets Miranda, her mother, and Thantos, their uncle and stepfather. I’ve been a fan of M.G. Leonard from her very first book, Beetle Boy. I love all of her books, especially her most recent series, Adventures on Trains, written with Sam Sedgman. I was super excited to hear she had another new solo book coming this year, all about birdwatching and solving mysteries. Twitch is out now and it is absolutely wonderful!

Notes: It is revealed that Alex's real name is Artemis and Camryn's real name is Apolla. It is likely that they were named after the Greek Olympian Twins Apollo and Artemis, but on the contrary Apollo is a boy. Another allusion to the Olympian Twins is that Artemis is the goddess of the Moon while Alex (Artemis) wears a moon amulet and Apollo is the god of the sun while Camryn (Apolla) wears a sun amulet. Thantos is also derived from Thantos, the Greek 'grim reaper'. Twitch is the most unusual story I have ever read. It has amazed me how the author M. G. Leonard came up with this fabulous idea for a story. While Stevie looks for the missing dad, the family also decides to get to it and find dad. I had a laugh at Stevie's reactions when she saw that the family had moved from one part to another. They don't move when she is around, so I can just imagine her feeling of confusion. I would also be scratching my head, though also be kind of curious and excited. There is magic in the air!Shadowland Connection: According to Miranda DuBaer, since the moon is half in darkness, Alex has a connection to the shadowlands (i.e. the realm of shadows). However, the book series was always different to me. Rereading always reminds me that writing has a million - trillion - styles. Twitches have their own. However, as a kid I loved Alex. I thought she was the coolest person ever, and I still like her the most.Meanwhile on Coventry Island, Fredo is on trial for his crimes. None other than Lord Thantos, absent from the island these past 15 years, is representing his defense. Karsh and Ileana represent the people, and where Karsh is calm in his presentation of evidence, Ileana’s hotheadedness may just reveal more than anyone ever expected. Alex was born on October 31st, as the moon was setting, her sister Apolla was born as the sun rose. The search for dad was great fun, and I had a laugh at how they had to race against time to make it in Stevie's room before she found out. Twitch is a fun adventure middle-grade book featuring a wonderful young lad who has found his passion in life, birds. He loves looking after them, watching them and he wants to work with them when he is older. He has a good head on his shoulders, is caring, loyal, and helpful. In the films, her adoptive mother used to say Alex was part werewolf because when the moon was up, so was she.
