About this deal

Many waders come with attached boots, but for those without, wearing separate wading boots or fishing shoes is essential for grip and foot protection. Hopefully this review can help you make the decision on whether the Vass Boots are the right fit for you. Waterproofing

We’ve had a look at the boots themselves in depth, so let’s discuss what you should look for in your carp fishing footwear. Warmth It’s worth noting, though, that the Vass boots aren’t completely waterproof. You get a water-tight seal that extends only halfway, so you have to be mindful before getting your feet submerged. In all honesty, I do think they are great boots if you intend to use them throughout the right seasons; spring, summer and autumn. Unlike a lot of gear these days, they are extremely well made so you will no doubt get your money’s worth out of them too. These are highly comfortable, completely waterproof insulated boots which offers unrivalled warmth and protection in the colder months. With a 5 layer removable liner, these have been tested to keep your feet warm down to -60’F (-51’C). (Bit nippy eh?) Again, another reason why many opt for the Vass boots as their go-to footwear. If you’re more of a bivvy bound carper, definitely consider some of the other options though as they make it up in warmth and overall comfort. BreathabilityAt first glance, you’ll notice how the padded collar trades off laces for a seamless tie fastening system. Carp anglers won’t have to fiddle around with laces, as all they need to do is pull the tie and create excellent insulation that withstands the harsh winter months. That being said, they’re meant to be less restrictive alternative to wellies, so having more breathable area on the upper half does make them more comfortable to wear for year-round carping. Velcro fastening makes the Vass Fleece Lined Boots easy to put on. The Vass boots are waterproof to halfway, so they’re not really ideal for standing in the margins etc. If you want something with more waterproof protection higher up the leg, consider a full height boot such as the Fortis Elements Boots. You want a pair of boots for the winter too
