About this deal

It should, of course, have rectangular inlays on an ebony ’board to really ape a Les Paul Custom. The trapezoid inlays are more Standard-like here, while the ’board is actually a man-made material called Lignum Rosa. Wilkinson Tune-O-Matic enables fine-tuning of each string for superb intonation all over the fretboard. The Trev Wilkinson-designed Vintage V100 features a unique evolutionary body shape with a graceful descending bass side shoulder and an ingeniously designed offset heel providing improved access to the ‘dusty-end’ of the guitar’s upper frets and opening up your playing.

Mismatched tone and volume knobs and a flawless finish ensure the Lemon Drop keeps the mojo working. I never thought I’d actually go to a Les Paul before my beloved strats! Can’t praise this Lemondrop enough really! The V100™ is an original Vintage® ReIssued Series guitar, designed and created by Trev Wilkinson and the UK Vintage design team. As with the design by which they’re inspired, both V100s are weighty propositions (there’s no mention of any weight relief ), but they do stay on the right side of the 4.5kg/10lb threshold and feel perfectly good in terms of playability, especially for the price. The fretwork is pretty tidy with the frets sitting over the binding, and it’s of a sensible gauge, too, not over-big in width or height at approximately 2.7mm wide and around 1.2mm high. Whether you're searching for your first guitar or your last, every member of the Vintage ReIssued Series is a keeper. Play on.

Success

Two piece centre jointed mahogany body, with carved solid maple cap and bookmatched flame maple veneer provides resonance, tone and ‘correct weight’ comfort. The Vintage V100 features a unique, evolutionary body shape, with a graceful descending bass side shoulder and an ingeniously-designed offset heel providing improved access to the upper reaches of the fretboard.

For sale is a Trev Wilkinson designed Vintage brand V100 Lemon Drop. This Les Paul copy is a part of Trev's Vintage guitar line and can be seen here Nothing to complain about though, any minor imperfection with these reliced guitars just adds to their mojo. This is really a guitar where you’re not going to be too troubled if you accidentally thump it off your desk! Playability and Sound Quality

Brit-conceived and long-running lookalike brand Vintage is going places – particularly across the pond in the USA. Is now the time to reconsider the copy? We think so…

For enhanced playability the Vintage V100 features a unique evolutionary body shape with a graceful descending bass side shoulder and an ingeniously designed offset heel providing improved access to the 'dusty-end' of the guitar's upper frets and opening up your playing. Nothing gives off that unique, so-cool vibe like a guitar that’s obviously seen some serious use. Like a battle-scarred warrior that always gives its best, the instrument’s character shines through the worn finish, saying 'this guitar has paid its dues’. Its sound has the heart and soul of a thousand gigs in it and you can feel it when you play it. It feels special to hold, and special to play. But how many people can afford the vintage instrument of their dreams? That special instrument which displays a unique level of wear from decades of playing – at home, numerous rehearsal sessions, smoky pubs to working men’s’ clubs, gigs and tours at home and abroad? Or how many guitarists can wait 20 years before their own guitar starts to show that kind of time-related character? Of course, both guitars are based on the Les Paul Custom, so we should really have ebony ’boards and rectangular inlays, rather than the more Standard-like style here. That said, inlays on both are pretty sharp. Medium Jumbo profile frets add to comfort, accuracy and overall positive feel of the Vintage V100PGM.

That Vintage logo might not be the coolest we’ve seen, but it’s not a deal-breaker and we’d strongly suggest you try either of these alongside the obvious competition, not least Epiphone. Do they hold their own? We think so. Specs You’re not going to confuse this with a Gibson, are you? The top nuts on both V100s are Graph Tech NuBone XB, which aims to “increase volume and enhance the low-end harmonics of your instrument” (Image credit: Future / Olly Curtis) Rosewood for outstanding tonal transfer, responsiveness and durability with a traditional 12" radius for superb playability and feel. This easily beats out the Epiphones in my opinion and the unique look and sound is something you simply wont find unless you spend several thousand on a Gibson. If you have a google around you will see lots of people singing the praises of these instruments. Genuinely a lovely guitar at a bargin price and I'm really sad to let this one go but downsizing my collection so alas it must. The V100™ 'Lemon Drop™' is an original Vintage® ReIssued Series guitar, designed and created by Trev Wilkinson and the UK Vintage design team. One piece Mahogany with classic Vintage ‘soft C’ profile for instant comfort, speed, accuracy and great feel. HARDWARE: Wilkinson tune-o-matic-style bridge, stopbar tailpiece, Grover 102 tuners with keystone buttons – gold-plated With the exception of the maple top of the MP, no wood is visible on either guitar apart from the fingerboard, which is made of something called Lignum Rosa (a name coined by experienced guitar designer Alan Entwistle, the man behind the Revelation brand). It’s not rosewood, though it certainly looks similar; it’s a multi-layered wood construct that’s ‘quarter-sawn’ so the layers create a grain at a right angles to the face.
