About this deal

Lysander Hawkley was blessed with a kind heart and stunning looks. He would always rescue a neglected wife or an abused horse. The act of rescuing neglected wives resulted in ecstatic sex which didn’t please their husbands. I have a son with Autism so I'm always pleased when I hear that a writer has included a character with the condition. I'm always left wondering whether racing people shag around this much. I suspect it's probably even more prolific than Cooper describes!

His reasons for doing so are purely financial, but he is encouraged by the opportunities the scheme gives him for frequent meetings with Janna Curtis, the dynamic new head of Larks, who has been drafted in to save what is a fast-sinking school from closure. Janna is young, pretty, enthusiastic and vastly brave - and she will do anything to rescue her demoralised, run-down and cash-strapped school. No,no, no !!! The two conditions can come together, but they are different. It infuriates me that this error was allowed to remain in the finished book. Rupert's dream is to have his beloved Thoroughbred stallion, Love Rat, declared leading sire. His main competition is the fiendish Cosmo Ranaldini and his horse, Roberto's Revenge. While he's flying all over the world to enter his horses in the richest races of the entire globe, things at home are being overseen by his stable manager Gav (who is of course a genius with horses but tormented in love), the nurse for his increasingly senile father Eddie, Gala (of course she is also a genius with horses AND a tormented widow) and a host of other characters (most of whom are geniuses with horses and unhappy in love). Notice a theme here? In the meantime, someone appears to be sabotaging Penscombe and the horses. In Rivals. Alex Hassell plays the rakish and dangerously charismatic ex-Olympian and Tory MP. He’s had roles in The Boys, Silent Witness , The Miniaturist and was Metatron in His Dark Materials. If the book had ended there it would’ve been a satisfactory read, not groundbreaking. Just, alright no regrets.

This book is about polo players. It brings in Argentinian romance experts who can also fly helicopters, heroines of each flavor and dark brooding men with troubled pasts. The heroine Perdita MacLeod is not very likeable as she interferes with the lives of almost all characters. Oh girl, don’t even get me started on the ‘antagonists’ from bitching little fat men and women that just constantly talked down at the other characters with intense greed into literal arms and class A drugs suppliers, pedophiles, serial rapists and possibly murderers. Rupert is consumed by one obsession: that Love Rat, his adored grey horse, be proclaimed champion stallion. He longs to trounce Roberto’s Revenge, the stallion owned by his detested rival Cosmo Rannaldini, which means abandoning his racing empire at Penscombe and his darling wife Taggie, and chasing winners in the richest races worldwide, from Dubai to Los Angeles to Melbourne.

Once she met The Sunday Times magazine editor at a dinner party, she knew that things will be better for her. The editor loved her tales of married life and asked her to write a piece which was succeeded by similar articles about housework, marriage and sex. In the year 1957, she became a junior reporter for the Middlesex Independent. She was later married to her childhood sweetheart, Leo Cooper. This was the sixth book in the series. It featured Sir Robert Rannaldini. He was very successful but a disgusting being in the world. His only ambitions were; making history in the musical industry by making a movie of Verdi’s darkest opera, Don Carlos and to seduce his 19 year old daughter Tabitha Campbell.
