Remember, for every pregnancy, your insurance should have breast pump coverage. Mine did not have a time frame before pregnancies, but some do.

Every second is worth its weight in gold when you're a new parent, and products that make it easy to multitask will be your new best friend. Those that choose to breastfeed will likely be spending hours a day breastfeeding and pumping, which means having the right breast pump for you can make that experience a lot more comfortable and enjoyable. Learning everything about breastfeeding can feel like diving into a vast sea of information. From < latch techniques to milk supply, there are so many factors to consider. It's no wonder that new moms often feel so overwhelmed. Sassos personally tested the Elvie Double Electric Pump as well, which she noticed was quieter than the Go, but didn't have a fully clear front, so she wasn't easily able to see how much milk was being expressed in real-time without connecting to the Elvie app. Unlike the Go, the Elvie app includes a sensor that alerts the wearer to how much milk they've pumped to help monitor expression. It also lets users adjust the intensity of the suction from their phone. The bottom line: Is the Willow Go worth it?Thaw breast milk from the freezer by putting it in the refrigerator overnight. Be sure to thaw the oldest breast milk first. Thawing frozen breast milk in the refrigerator can take up to 12 hours, so it is important to plan in advance. Do not thaw breast milk at room temperature, or thaw in the microwave.

If you are a new mother and find yourself pumping once a day or nine times a day as I did, you’ll definitely want to invest in a hands-free wearable breast pump like the Willow Go. It is the only wearable breast pump that can store up to 14 oz of breast milk per session! While the motor doesn’t feel anywhere near as strong as other hospital grade pumps, it removes enough milk to take the edge off between major pumps, or if you are away from the baby for just a few hours. Finally, another extra of the Willow is the Apple Watch app. The pump syncs with the phone app to tell you how long you've been pumping at a glance. It was nice, but sometimes a little delayed. It did inspire me to just use an Apple Watch timer for pumps that didn't have a timer, like the Imani i2 ( 7/10, WIRED Recommends), to get a similar experience. Up to 14 ounces of milk storage. If you're an overproducer, Willow Go is your best bet. The brand offers the option to upgrade to a 7-ounce container on each breast, which means you're less likely to experience overflow and leaks.Willow Go is designed for optimal output and comfort — delivering the efficiency of the traditional pumps while fitting fully in-bra. With hospital-grade suction, app-connectivity, and our highest capacity (up to 7 oz per side!), it's your reason to cut the cords for good. Let’s review everything you need to know about the brand new Willow Go breast pump and why it might be the best hands-free breast pump for you. Store breast milk immediately after expressing. (Remember it can last up to four hours at room temperature before cooling, but this will not maximize its fridge lifetime) Cleaning is super easy with only five parts, and it is dishwasher safe. I suggest putting the parts in something like this when putting them in the dishwasher.

Two flange sizes are provided—21 and 24 millimeters—along with a nifty try-on nipple sizing chart to determine which one to use. Whether you choose to pump after every nursing session or only occasionally, Willow's innovative technology ensures a comfortable and efficient pumping experience. Our pumps offer hands-free operation, allowing you to multitask or simply relax while expressing milk. The discreet and portable design means you can pump on the go, without being tied down to an outlet or cumbersome equipment. Clearly, both pumps offer pros and cons, and the right choice will depend on what features are most important to you, from size to price. If I had to choose one, though, I'd opt for the Willow Go. The price pointis substantially lower and, for me, the suction was better. What's more, the ability to upgrade the bottle size to prevent any leaks if you have oversupply was super helpful. That said, the caveats are notable; its bigger size and pour-over design (rather than being able to store milk directly in the bottle like you can with Elvie) may be deterrents for some moms. Bigger size. The difference isn't huge, but Willow Go is slightly larger and heavier than Elvie Pump. Room Temperature - Storage time (4hrs): Breast milk should ideally be put in a cool environment immediately or fed to your baby, but as long as it stays in a room cooler than 77°F it should maintain its freshness. This method is often useful for moms pumping in the middle of the night or just before heading home from work. Do not pour excess room temperature milk into already cooled or frozen milk containers. Cool the room temperature milk first if you wish to combine it with milk already in the fridge.Hands-free breast pumps can give breastfeeding parents the opportunity to go untethered while pumping, giving you more freedom to use your pumping time however you see fit. While you can't exactly run laps since you'll have to be careful that they don't leak, parents can fold some laundry or engage in some gentle chores while doing double duty. That's not to say that Elvie or Willow aren't worth the investment, though. If you often pump on the go, especially if you pump exclusively, a hands-free pump can make it significantly easier to do so throughout the day. Unlikemy Spectra S2, for example, Elvie and Willow can be worn while commuting andare super portable, making them better for pumping at work(I often took my Elvie with me to the office). This comes in handy when you're unable to breastfeed directly, such as when you need to be away from your baby for a period of time, or if you need to take medication that makes it unsafe to breastfeed. Having a stash of milk readily available also allows others, like a partner or caregiver, to feed your baby with breast milk. Willow Go is chosen by moms over their traditional breast pump more than 75% of the time (and they tell us that they get as much, if not more, milk) While this is fine if you’re planning to use the milk right away, it’s problematic if you were hoping to build up a stash.
