About this deal

The outer layer of the hose was padded and felt like it would hold up well if dragged along the floor. As with the other hoses I dragged it over different surfaces, inflated and deflated it several times and left it fully inflated for 30 minutes to test its waterproofness. I also used it to water my plants and lawn. No Spray Gun or Nozzle Most expandable hoses aren’t as lightweight as this Flexi-Hose expandable hose , making it a great choice if you need to haul it around to different parts of the garden. It comes with an eight-pattern spray nozzle, solid brass fittings for the hose pipe, and can withstand water temperatures up to 113°F. The XHose doesn’t come with a spray gun or nozzle which is disappointing as I only have a cheap nozzle from an old hosepipe at home and for the price, I expected more from XHose. Manufacturer Warranty While not exactly a typical expandable hose, this coil hose from Water Right is safe for watering edibles and for little ones to drink directly from the nozzle and has a similar shrinking function. The coiled hose design stretches approximately 40–45 feet its full length for a 50-foot hose, and 25 feet has a workable length of 20 feet, and so on.

This lead-free brass and UV stabilized polyurethane hose does not contain phthalates and is ideal for watering small to medium-sized vegetable gardens. One happy buyer reported, “I did research on hoses that would not essentially poison me if I drank out of them or watered my vegetables with them. Many hoses can transfer chemicals into the water you are feeding your plants, and since I grow organic, I didn't want that. This one is perfect.” This expandable garden hose comes with a hose hanger, storage bag, and a 10-pattern ergonomic, slip-resistant spray nozzle. “Love the small size,” reported one satisfied consumer. “Came with a great storage hook that attaches to the spigot. Has an alternate shut-off at the end of the hose. No leaking and shrinks up to a nice compact size.” Upon connecting the replacement to the tap, it leaked at the point where the hose entered the fitting.Expandable hoses work by contracting to more than a third of their original size and collapsing to a compact and easily storable hose length when not in use, preventing tangles and kinks. Some hoses are made from the thermoplastic copolyester , which is used in industrial tubing and is more expensive than a standard hose. The best part is that if an expandable hose springs a leak after the warranty expires, a flexible hose repair kit can easily patch small punctures instead of you having to replace the entire item. You shouldn’t use expandable hoses with some pressure washers (the ones that “pull” water from the source). Vinyl hoses: A conventional hose that is the most economical of all hose types, a vinyl hose is best for light-duty watering. Coiled hoses are usually made of vinyl and are appropriate for light-duty use. On closer inspection, I saw sellotape around the base of the box, a tell-tale sign that a previous customer had returned this product. The spray nozzle has a non-slip rubberized grip, a circular valve to change water pressure, and eight spray patterns, including mist, shower, jet, and cone watering options. One happy buyer wrote, “I decided to try this one, and am very happy with it so far. It’s light and easy to move around, and doesn’t kink, which saves me trips up and down my hill…So far I love it. No kinks, no leaks, and a nozzle that’s very easy to use. Recommend it.”

While it’s difficult to find a really long hose that is completely kink-free, this 100-foot expandable water hose from TheFitLife fits the bill. It has industrial-grade heavy-duty 304 stainless steel to help withstand the high 145 PSI water pressure. It comes in many different sizes for an array of gardening needs. Below we’ve covered the different types of hoses, including the different outer and inner materials and a variety of hose fittings to make choosing a suitable one for your needs easier. Soaker hoses: A sprinkler or soaker hose is similar to a drip system and works on a timer. This hose drips water onto a garden to soak the soil and keep it moist in especially hot and dry climates. I found several complaints about the “lifetime guarantee”. Apparently, the manufacturer will only replace the faulty product once and won’t transfer the guarantee to the replacement. Despite only spending less than two hours using this expandable hose, I was left with the feeling that it was cheap and of poor quality.Metal hoses: Metal hoses are made of stainless steel and will not corrode if left in direct sunlight like other hoses. They also don’t kink and won’t spring a leak like other hose materials.
