Our superzoom compact cameras fit powerful zoom lenses into small, stylish bodies so you can shoot whatever you want, wherever you go – ideal for special occasions and holidays.

You’ll get the best results from the Agfa Camera on a bright day. Keep at least 1m away from your subject. Ideally, keep the main subject in the centre. Avoid direct sunlight into the lens. In cloudy weather or indoors the flash is recommended. Our selection of DSLR cameras gives you the chance to unleash your creative side and allows you explore the endless possibilities regardless if you are just starting out, or you need the ultimate photographic firepower. The viewfinder is huge. Not only is it huge, but it’s also bright, and it tells you the distance the lens is set to along the lower edge of the view through the finder. Never feel constrained by size, as our selection of Mirrorless cameras have proven time and again. These cameras offer the same power, control and flexibility of a DSLR but (more often than not) in a compact size. Once upon a time, you could buy a camera that took a picture and printed it for you straight away. That “once upon a time” was only last Thursday for a lot of people with the return of Instant Print Cameras.Whether you're travelling the world, diving off the Great Barrier Reef, shooting a movie, or want to share you prints instantly, there is something here for every level and every budget. This is a film camera. A 35mm film camera. Which means you’ll have to buy the film, get it processed and just take your chance on that one shot. There’s no editing and deleting snaps with this one. Vintage photography: AGFA 1970s-style camera Possibly my favourite feature, the film advance doubles up as a rewind lever. Press and rotate the button next to it and it effectively reverses its function. This helps keep the design neat as there’s no need for a secondary lever. The camera comes in a box with an Agfa embossed soft case, a strap, and 12-month Australian and New Zealand warranty through iPhoto. It requires a single AAA battery to operate.

Bridge cameras are designed to look like smaller SLR’s, have bigger zoom ranges, but offer the ease and flexibility of a point and shoot compact. At the dawn of more consumer digital cameras, there was simply compact cameras and digital SLR’s. There was a gap between these two areas – for customers who wanted more manual controls, but without having to worry about carrying additional lenses. They “bridged” the gap in the market between Digital SLR and compact cameras (see what they did with the name there…). To a certain extent, this breaks my own narrative around my preferences for simple cameras. I’d argue that the Rollei 35se is a more complicated and certainly more fussy camera to use, yet I prefer it to the Agfa 1035. The Rollei is a good looking camera too, but what it brings to the table is a size advantage that I can’t ignore. That is to say, despite it being a more complicated camera, I prefer it to a more simple, bigger camera. The Makina 67 on the other hand is massive. It’s looks appeal to me in the way the Agfa 1035’s do, and like the Agfa I also find it to be flawed. Ultimately though the balance of its size and output makes it the right choice for me.Since writing that post, I’ve also reviewed the Plaubel Makina 67. What’s relevant about that review in relation to what I have to say about the Agfa – aside from their similar appearance – is that despite a whole load of flaws I found in using the Makina 67, I still found it to suit me. It’s bigger and heavier than I like cameras to be, but for what it is, it does at least compact down enough to be carried easily. I don’t really get on with the soft-edged rangefinder patch, but I make it work because of the limited availability of a viable alternative. I have a few other concerns about it too, but in short, as far as medium format cameras go, of all that have ever been designed, it’s just the one that seems to suit me the best. The fatal flaw The Agfa 1035 is a wonderful piece of German Functionalist industrial design. It is a camera that consists of little more than what’s absolutely essential for its purpose. For this, I love it, but I’m rarely drawn to use it. So rather than simply review it, I thought I’d detail why I’ve found myself to have such a mixed response to it, and how it made me reflect on my preferences.

With an exciting blend of cutting-edge technology, market-leading optics and intuitive manual control, our advanced compact cameras will inspire your passion for photography and help you deliver stunning results without having to worry about the bulk of a DSLR or Mirrorless camera or without carrying additional lensesThe Agfa 1035 doesn’t have a built in flash, but mounting a flash to the camera activated the aperture control around the lens for working with a manual flash.
