I was able to visit Amalfi when I was living in Italy for college and the lemons are HUGE! They are the size of a football, and that is not an exaggeration. We usually try to do our tasting in a fun setting, because most gin is drunk in a group or as part of a celebration or night out. A clinical testing environment may not provide you with the right type of review and in the right frame of mind to take in the many flavours. Malfy Gin is a brand of gin bottled in Italy, distilled by Torino Distillati, and distributed by Pernod Ricard. So there you have it, that is our honest appraisal of the Malfy Gin Con Limone. This is a great starter gin for those not ready to go in the deep-end and also a fun gin to try out. In a simple gin and tonic without any garnish or flavoured tonic, I feel this stands up quite well. The Malfy gin con Limone is a fresh and very easy drink – especially for non-gin drinkers to experiment with.

Felicity Murray, "Malfy gin with an Italian twist launches in US," The Drinks Report, March 14, 2016. The production of Italian gin is typically done on a small scale, with distillers taking an artisanal and meticulous approach to the process. Copper pot stills are favoured for their ability to create a smoother, more refined spirit. The botanicals are carefully selected and balanced to create a harmonious and complex flavour profile.Beyond juniper, Italian gins often feature a range of botanicals that reflect the country’s culinary and herbal traditions. Ingredients such as olive leaves, citrus fruits, lavender, rosemary, and sage are commonly used, providing Italian gin with a distinctive Mediterranean character.

We love gin at Travel Wanderlust, and rum, wine, whiskey and most alcohols. We love reviewing it. So when we got a chance to try out Malfy gin, we jumped at the chance. One of the hallmarks of Italian gin is its use of unique and often indigenous botanicals. Italian distillers take advantage of the country's rich biodiversity to create gins that are a true reflection of the Italian landscape. Juniper, the key ingredient in all gins, is often sourced from the wild, particularly from the Tuscan region, known for its high-quality juniper berries.

We will hopefully get a chance to try the rest later, but the Con Limone is a great to way to start our journey with Malfy Gin. Karla Alindahao, "That's The Spirit: The 3 Best New Gins to Try Right Now," Forbes, October 29, 2016. Malfy Gin is made using vacuum distillation, which is also called cold distillation. This uses a lower temperature and is how we keep our botanicals fresh and flavourful. It is a newer gin technique that is aimed at retaining as much flavour in the gins versus a more traditional method that breakdowns the botanicals. The alcohol review

The gin is a premium Italian gin, which might not be the first place you associate with the new wave of gins taking over the world. We were excited to try it because it isn’t something that we’re that familiar with. It is distilled at Torino Distillati in Moncalieri, Italy. a b Mike Raven, "The First Luxury Italian Gin to be Imported into the United States," In the Mix, June 22, 2016. a b c d Lisa Futterman, "Italian gin Malfy is like limoncello's adult cousin," Chicago Tribune, December 27, 2016.
