To me, this is mainly a summer scent, as it will stand up and perform very well in the heat. However, it can honestly be used in the winter without any problem, which is a good bit of versatility. Incense from the base is very dominating and gives a calming feeling along with patchouli — the heart and top are light, seductive, and dreamy, while the base gives earthiness and masculinity. After 4-5 hours pass, people will still be able to smell it on you, and the intensity doesn’t change for those who come near you. The juiciness of the bergamot is easy to overlook, but it really helps to capture the same sort of citrus feel as the original. The fresh, aquatic, and marine scent will make your days lighter and easier while patchouli and incense notes will give you masculinity and a classy feeling during nights out.

Mit seinen ausgewogenen Proportionen, den abgerundeten Kanten und der breiten Verschlusskappe wirkt es sehr klassisch. Farblich entfernt es sich jedoch stark vom ursprünglichen Flakon: Flaschenkörper wie Verschluss erscheinen in tiefem Schwarz, das von dem glänzenden Silber des Verschlussrings und der Beschriftung kontrastiert wird. Fazit Just bear in mind that with extra sprays you won’t increase its performance – you will just waste the fragrance. Performance is just amazing for a fresh fragrance and it’s so stable that I have no doubt that it will last and project for hours on your skin too.Projection wise, it doesn’t falter. Profumo isn’t a heavy type of scent but you’ll know it’s there. It starts out strong on my skin for about an hour and then becomes much more moderate. It’ll radiate during the dry down, about 3-5 feet, but still not heavy. As I’ve mentioned above, Acqua Di Gio Profumo is so versatile men’s fragrance that it could almost be a year-round fragrance. However, aquatic marine notes just don’t fit into wintertime. To me, it’s way better than the original Acqua Di Gio. I honestly feel that if Profumo was to come out in 1996, it would have the same success as ADG. During the dry down, it takes on more of a warm and slightly metallic air. When blended with the bergamot, the bit of metallic sensation from the geranium, reminds me somewhat of Hugo Red. Different scents, but have some commonalities. Way less citrus in the Armani. One of the first flankers of original Acqua di Gio and also one of the most successful ones was Acqua Di Gio Profumo – released in 2015, created by the same master perfumer who made original Acqua Di Gio, but also the king of fresh fragrances – Alberto Morillas.

Notes are beautiful and very well blended – Alberto Morillas is known for making killer combinations when it comes to fresh fragrances. With more testing, I have found Acqua di Gio Profumo, usually settles in the 9-ish hour range. Occasionally, I can squeak out some more time, but it has to be the right climate mix.

It does have that oceanic aroma, which can be somewhat out of place. However, Profumo is pretty signature scent worthy and isn’t overly weird when it gets colder. Though, I wore it today when it was chilly out, and still enjoyed it. Acqua Di Gio Profumo was definitely a masterpiece in its own way, and even though it’s a flanker of the original fragrance, it certainly has a signature scent that many people love Profumo is more mature than the original Acqua di Gio, so, if that one was more suited for teens through college age…this is for mid-20s and up.

Ultimately what I get from Acqua di Gio Profumo is an oceanic bergamot with herbal spices, smokey elements, and an altering between warmth/aquatic aromas. It took me some time to truly appreciate this one, but once I was done with my sample sprayer, I was fully into wearing this stuff.

It definitely has original Acqua Di Gio DNA, you can clearly smell it and it’s like they a bit of heaviness to it. The only reason I can think of is to promote the new Acqua Di Gio Eau De Parfum, but still, to me, that doesn’t make any sense as Profumo was still very popular, very different from others, and still had pretty good sales numbers.

Even though I updated this article at the beginning of April 2023 with accurate information that Acqua Di Gio Profumo wasn’t discontinued, only a month later Giorgio Armani pulled this fragrance out from sale. In this post, I want to take a closer look at the Profumo version, see how it smells, how it performs, and whether or not it is worth a buy. The sage and rosemary definitely tone down as you move along. It stays fairly marine with its aroma, but with more warmth and smoothness.
