Description

The Babyzen Yoyo+ really is exceptional in this area. Out of all of the lightweight buggies we tested, this was the smoothest ride out of them all and by a considerable margin too. One of the biggest downsides to this pram is that you’ll struggle to use it on certain terrains. Saying that, we’ve been amazed by how well it’s handled bumpy paths, gravel and grass. The one big struggle we had was pushing it over the medieval cobbles in the city of Carcassonne in France. I think any pram would have struggled there though!!

Read next: Everything you need to know about taking a pram on a plane How much space does it take up? When folded, the Babyzen Yoyo+ is tiny. It really is quite remarkable how small it is when collapsed. It’s minute folded size means that it can be carried effortlessly. If space is an issue for you, the Yoyo+ is well worth considering. How does it look?

What to know

I’ve mentioned how lightweight it is, but did you know it actually has a strap so you can carry it over your shoulder? If you’re folding and unfolding it a lot, and carrying it from A to B while folded, this is ideal! This entertaining accessory also ensures your older child is seated safely when crossing busy roads and streets, whilst allowing the YOYO2 to remain manoeuvrable and easy to push. Here’s another post of mine on my travel blog explaining everything about flying with a baby: https://annaeverywhere.com/flying-with-a-baby/ but about bassinets. Dylan was I believe 3.5 months in this video? Maybe a bit older – not exactly sure since we used to fly with him a few times a month for doctor’s appointments haha (you’ll find this story on my travel blog too). Thank you so much!!! This was the best review article I found after days of researching! I was thinking to buy either minu or yoyo2 and I believe yoyo2 is a winner because it fits more airline overhead compartments than minu. We don’t travel much but we do have family overseas so at some point we will be making trips there so knowing that yoyo2 will make the cut is re-assuring. As buggies go, the Babyzen Yoyo+ is a modern classic, looking both contemporary and stylish. It feels and looks as expensive as you’d expect from such a high value item. Can I get the Babyzen Yoyo+ in different colours?

The brake is easy to flip on and off with your right foot. It’s bright red and located on the right side of the bottom of the frame. Many people get sold on other strollers instead because they fold fully with one hand vs with Yoyo you do need to grab it underneath. But, if you think about it, once any other stroller is folded you still need to grab it from the ground, so in the end you still bend down. When we were deciding between a few different options, I made a list of the pros and cons of the Yoyo stroller. Pros I also want to add that I bought this stroller so this is a completely unbiased review! Using our Yoyo pushchair in London Here’s the part where I say that every baby is different! For some reason, Cooper started getting agitated in his newborn bassinet between 3-4 months. It coincided with him wanting to see the world more! He was more alert, loved looking at things, and I think (although I couldn’t read his mind!) that he just got fed up of being cooped up in what is essentially a rigid box. Maxi Cosi Pebble 360 attached to our Yoyo pramAnother thing that I think it’s worth mentioning is that while lightweight, it’s sturdy. Before I owned other travel strollers I thought it was a norm that the stroller wouldn’t tip over with a diaper bag attached to a handle, but I was wrong. Every other stroller tips over (yes, including Joolz Aer and Bugaboo Butterfly) but not Yoyo. It’s honestly incredible! Yoyo reclines to a typical reclining position, while Ergo is flat flat. It can be an advantage, but most kids don’t care to be fully flat after newborn stage and it makes the break not easily accessible when fully reclined and also makes the stroller more prone to falling. How tall are you? If you or your partner are on the tall it’s extremely uncomfortable. Even if you’re 5’7 it’s already short and you’ll be slouching. However, we believe that this brilliant buggy is well worth the investment if you’re a frequent traveller, are concerned with space, live in an urban area or fancy a more contemporary and slightly cheaper alternative to the more traditional and often bulkier travel systems. It takes a ton of space in the car. Especially in Europe if you rent a smaller vehicle you will have issues putting the passenger’s seat in a comfortable position if you put Doona behind it.

It’s also worth noting that we have a small car (Toyota Yaris) and I would have struggled to fit a larger pram in our boot. The Yoyo slides in easily, leaving plenty of room for luggage (which when you have a baby, there’s a lot of!) Babyzen Yoyo2 Suspension and Wheels There are different levels to put the shoulder straps through, so you can adjust this as your baby grows. There’s also a 5-point harness which feels very secure, with padded shoulder straps to keep your baby snug in the seat. Cooper secured safely in the Yoyo harnessThe compact wheels and easy manoeuvrability make it an ideal pram for town and city outings. Babyzen Yoyo2 Newborn Attachments It’s super heavy. Sure, it has wheels but you still need to lift it and if you need to get it up the stairs it’s 16.5 lbs to carry on top of the child. It’s more than the double weight of a regular car seat. My firstborn always slept and chilled comfortably in the stroller, and it wasn’t bumpy for him. Also, you can roll it around like a suitcase, which makes rolling even more seamless. Generally, I love how easy it was to move the baby stroller with one hand. When we were choosing our pram, we narrowed our decision to these options. I haven’t gone into the pros and cons of each, but we’re very happy with our decision to buy the Yoyo2!

When I was pregnant, we went to the shops to test out lots of prams. We were torn between buying a substantial pram or a really compact one. In the end, I’m really pleased we went with the Yoyo! It’s ideal for London, which is where we use it the majority of the time. It’s rare we need something suitable for rough terrain, and if we do, we use our Ergobaby carrier. In the US, Yoyo harness requires a different release button, but you can remove the top strap and make it a 3-point harness, which is what we mostly use when the kids are small. As for the brake, it is situated on the right and is really easy to use. It is quite small compared to other brake pedals our tested tried, so it's more fiddly to find with your foot.I wanted to wait a little while before writing this honest review so that I felt like I’d really got to know it, but it’s fair to say I’ve put it through its paces! I’ve also used several attachments, and discovered the pram’s pros and cons. Cooper in the bassinet – what a cutie! Created in collaboration with BeSafe®, the Norwegian safety experts, YOYO car seat is designed to protect your newborn baby and ensure he/she travels safely: YOYO car seat is a certified Group 0+ model for children aged 0 to approximately 12 months (up to 13 kg / 75 cm - 28.7 lbs / 29.5 in). I was also able to hang my own handbag on the handlebar when the kid was sitting in it and even when they were not. We can hang a diaper bag off it and it never failed when the baby is sitting in it, it’s 100% safe. It’s worth noting too that while the buggy may not last as long as others in terms of weight, it does have a high resale value which could allow you to recoup some of the cost if you were looking to sell it on after use. I don’t know if you read my Uppababy Vista review, but we actually lived in Verona with it and it was absolutely useless on every possible occasion and the ultimate nightmare 😀 (friends in Bologna had Uppababy Cruz and also the stroller never leaving the apartment while they got something else), so definitely leave it at home or sell it before moving.
