About this deal

Locos 3 and 4 in Corris condition; Corris goods brake van (TR No. 6); several varieties of Corris wagons; Locos 1 and 2 in pre-preservation condition; Loco 6 (side view only); carriages 1, 4 and van 5; several varieties of TR wagon. The Skarloey Railway's no:- 4 engine is the latest addition to Bachmann Trains' ever popular Thomas and Friends narrow gauge range and in this review we shall be taking a closer look at him. Spencer's footplate flattens out at the cab, unlike his television series model which keeps going at a slope. His boiler is also too thin. In close-up shots, the large scale Thomas is used (albeit with the face altered to resemble the HO one for consistency). In the Railway Series when Peter Sam worked on the Mid Sodor Railway (and was still called Stuart) he was originally painted green and was later repainted into the scarlet red of the Skarloey Railway, however in the TV series he retained his green livery as part of the production decision to make the narrow gauge characters easier to tell apart.

All HO scale four-wheel coaches and brake vans (excluding Henrietta and Toad) are missing their dummy coupling hooks. In addition, he is also the first character that was first made in Large Scale, unlike the other characters who were all first made in HO scale and then made again into large scale.Peter Sam told them about the television as well. And they were pleased and excited too, all except Sir Handel. " I don't hold with it!" he grumbled. " Vulgar, I call it. Fancy traipsing about making an exhibition of yourselves. I won't do it, I tell you! Telly something indeed. Just let the Thin Controller come here, I'll tell him something!" Skarloey said nothing, he just winked at Peter Sam. But next day, when the Thin Controller did come to explain about the television, Sir Handel kept strangely quiet. " Now", said the Thin Controller at last. " I want every engine to take part". " I..I..I don't feel well", quavered Sir Handel. " You poor engine", said the Thin Controller gravely. " You can stay in the shed". Sir Handel smiled broadly. " And your driver and firemen can take you to pieces. That would make a very interesting picture. Just what we need!" Sir Handel's feelings were beyond words.

The coaches in the Thomas' Christmas Delivery and Thomas' Christmas Special sets are Emily's coaches repainted. Hello,

In the Railway Series, along with his ERTL and 1997-2005 Wooden Railway toys, Sir Handel is depicted with Sir Haydn's original cab design, which meant his cab was only open on his right side until Great Little Engines and his coal bunkers were not visible until New Little Engine. In the latter book, while his coal bunkers became visible, he retained the old cab design. In the television series, he is depicted with Sir Haydn's post-1968 and current, cab design. This is due to his model being a repaint of Bachmann’s existing American 4-4-0 tooling. As a result of this, the model is inaccurate in a few places. Bachmann models were used as references for the Percy, James, Gordon and Emily replicas at Thomas Land US. Percy later told him and Peter Sam that there was a railway show for little engines being held at Ulfstead Castle. Peter Sam wondered if his funnel would win a prize at the show, which led to Sir Handel once again boasting about his special wheels.

With Sir Handel, just a word of thought that he would suffer the same fate as Edward and Henry. However Edward and Henry have at least had their moments to shine in the CGI era. Sir Handel though has no character in CGI. You could replace him with "Inga from Norway" I could still see Duncan following up after Peter Sam. It won't be a surprise if Bachmann would consider prioritizing Luke or Victor over Sir Handel

Bachmann Spares (UK)

I noticed that no one has talked about this yet, so I'm not sure how many of you know, but Bachmann revealed their first prototype of Peter Sam in a video yesterday, with better quality pictures today! In my personal opinion, Peter Sam is definitely the next character I would like to see in narrow gauge. Quite honestly I feel he should have been announced this year, but when looking at things from Bachmann's standpoint, it's understandable. I think Chaz made some very good points in his post, but I also have a few things I'd like to add as well.

The original releases of Emily's coaches had a matte coating on the roofs, but the 2017 releases have the roofs glossed. Narrow Gauge Slate Wagon with Load (Based on TR 2-Plank Slate Wagon – available in Bachmann Europe line) Oliver, Rosie, Ryan, Paxton and Daisy are the only HO locomotives to be based purely on their CGI renders. All other models, including those with CGI faces, borrow elements from the model series builds. Gordon's express coaches were the first Bachmann Thomas products to be reintroduced following their discontinuation. In addition, these coaches were also given a yellow stripe to match their CGI counterparts. Series 12 - Mountain Marvel ( cameo), Henry Gets it Wrong ( mentioned), The Party Surprise ( cameo) and The Man in the Hills

Sept. 1965, Loco No. 1 “Tal-y-llyn”, carriages Nos. 1, 2, 3, brake van, wagons and vans, details etc. I agree with most of the points you made in your post Chaz, I definitely think Peter Sam is the most logical for the next engine, and definitely the one I want to see next. Sir Handel is the only narrow gauge engine not to have a speaking role in the eighteenth series. Ironically, he is the only Skarloey Railway engine to have more than one speaking role in the twentieth series.
