Description

VRF Air-conditioning to all offices ensuring comfort throughout the year aligned with low running costs The grade II listed Newark Works, a significant part of the industrial heritage of Bath, will be refurbished providing in excess of 4,500 sq m of creative workplace opportunities. Our role on Bath Quays South involved the submission of a comprehensive application that included an Environmental Statement.

The Riverside coach park and café will remain open, although the coach park is now operating as a short term parking facility only, with long term coach parking available at the First Bus depot at Weston Island.

Installing new flood walls and raise existing river walls on the south side of the river between Churchill Bridge and Midland Bridge. Amendments to the Green Park Road proposals include a change in the Avon Street car park exit location and the location of Corn Street pedestrian crossing. Around 150 trees will be planted as part of the scheme and the area will include a greater diversity of plant species and more fruiting species that will help to attract birds and insects. The trees will be planted at varying stages of maturity, including native species found elsewhere along the river corridor in Bath, such as willow, field maple, alder, birch and lime. An artist’s impression of what the bank will look like when complete.

This riverside work will require the riverside path between Green Park and Broad Quay to be closed on occasions, but pedestrians and cyclists will only be diverted when necessary and signs will be in place. The project would not increase flood risk up or downstream and would not stop other flood alleviation works going ahead elsewhere in the city. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this change in road layout but we will have lots of advance warning signs in place to ensure the smoothest transition possible.

Work has begun to create a new south facing riverside park in Bath – as part of the Bath Quays Waterside flood mitigation scheme – providing an attractive natural area for the public to enjoy. Bath Quays Bridge will provide a new pedestrian and cycle bridge designed by Marc Mimram, crossing the River Avon and connecting Bath Quays South with the city centre. Bath Quays North comprises up to 38,000 sq m of office space, residential uses (at least 70 new homes) and other mixed-use development. A new two-way traffic system around Avon Street car park will go live this month in the latest major milestone for the Bath Quays Waterside flood mitigation scheme. The next phase of flood works will involve the excavation of the north river bank between Churchill Bridge and Green Park, allowing the widening of the river bank, which will improve the River Avon’s ability to convey flood water, and establish the new riverside public open space.
