of the book is also dairy-free, lactose-free/low-lactose and low FODMAP, or instructs you how to adapt a recipe if it isn’t already ? There’s actually a boatload of vegan-friendly options too! Yes – tons actually! Throughout the book, I’ve clearly labelled whenever a recipe is dairy-free. Whenever a recipe isn’t dairy-free, I’ve listed exactly how to make it dairy-free (if possible) for each recipe. This took *a lot* of work and recipe testing, but it’s always worth it for you lovely people! 90% of the recipes in the book are either dairy-free, or can be adapted to be dairy-free using a few simple swaps. I always want my recipes to be as accessible to as many people as possible! Chopped tomatoes: Even the cheapest tin of chopped tomatoes works wonders here, so get whatever’s cheapest. My first ever party food chapter that’s fit for all special occasions – all made in 30 minutes or less! I think it goes without saying that I wouldn’t be announcing my *fourth* book without all the love and support across my last three books and on social media.

After all, it’s not until you can’t eat gluten that you realise it’s in *almost everything* – bread, cakes, pasta, pizza… essentially all my favourite food. So I put my apron on out of pure ‘hangry’ frustration and began creating all the recipes I really missed and posted them on my blog; mainly just so I could share them with family before I went over for tea.Even with the few recipes which don’t provide a veggie or vegan option, they can usually easily be adapted to be so using the right gluten-free and vegan alternative – ie. a gluten-free and meat-free mince or a gluten-free egg replacement powder for example. Does the book have low FODMAP recipes in it? What about lactose-free? This book is 80% savoury recipes and 20% sweet treats, desserts and bakes. It’s essentially a similar ratio to my first book, with a focus on everyday, beginner-friendly recipes that you can use again and again.

And of course, who could forgot that stringy, gooey layer of melted mozzarella on top? It’s everything you’d want in a stuffed pepper… just unstuffed! The intro chapter contains ‘real life’ guides to surviving Christmas on a gluten-free diet.As some of you might know already, the festive period presents its own unique challenges for us gluten-free folks… fortunately I’ve learned a TON of important lessons over the last decade and documented my best tips and advice; hopefully to ensure you don’t have to learn those lessons the hard way like I did! Here’s a few other veg swaps you could make, as long as they’re all finely chopped:

Lots of super speedy everyday meals/fakeaways, lazy one-pot recipes and budget-friendly family favourites. YES! Just like my other books, ‘Gluten-free Christmas!’ contains easy swaps you can make to adapt the recipes to be dairy-free, low FODMAP, lactose-free and veggie/vegan where possible. It’s super important that as many of you can enjoy my recipes as possible, so I worked really hard on testing all of these swaps! And if a huge percentage of the recipes were already available on my blog for free or previously published in other books, I just couldn’t honestly say that! So yep, almost every single recipe is totally unique to this book, of course, with the other 1% being gluten-free Yorkshire puddings – a must at Christmas!
