One of the most reliable studies focused on the effects of face yoga to date was conducted by researchers at Northwestern Medicine and published in JAMA Dermatology. The study found that when adult women practiced face yoga exercises consistently for 30 minutes per day over a 20-week (four- to five-month) period, most did experience changes in their facial muscles and skin, including measurably fuller and firmer cheeks and tighter skin. On the surface, it is a superficial practice meant to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, give you a youthful glow, and tighten and tone sagging skin. Many people believe that when you look good you feel good and vice a versa, but here is where my issue lies with this book. If you are only using yoga for vanity, then I think it defeats the purpose of what is supposed to be spiritual balancing practice. Anyone who knows anything about the mind body connection will know that our muscles and tissues store our emotions, and when you work those muscles you are able to release them. This is where I felt Danielle Collins missed the mark. I felt she did not go into enough depth about the benefits of Face Yoga. Sure it can make you look better, but what about the deeper metaphysics of it? What types of emotions are we storing in our facial muscles? Why are we storing them in our face? What are the spiritual meaning of wrinkles or acne? What is happening to us on an emotional level when we perform Face Yoga? er tydeligt beskrevet og hver øvelse tager omkring 1 minut at gøre. Bogen er nemt at læse, har en masse af billeder, der hjælper at se hvilken del af kroppen skal man behandle sammen med håndernes- og fingernespositurer. You may need to practice for at least several weeks, likely more than six in most cases, to see any results. Most face yoga experts recommend ideally practicing up to six days a week for around 30 minutes a day for the practice to really pay off. The 90 minutes whizzed by and I didn’t want it to end! I was lapping up all the information, loved the practices and really enjoyed Sarah’s engaging and accessible style of teaching. I felt fabulous from the face yoga techniques, particularly the buccal practices as I suffer from TMJ. My skin felt incredible and was zinging all day! I felt also deeply relaxed and grounded.

As the classes only 20 minutes long, they are the perfect length to fit into your busy lifestyle and before you know it, your practice is done! Interlace your fingers over your forehead and apply light pressure while attempting to lift your forehead. Repeat 50 times, and/or hold for up to one minute. For those who are planning to join Face Yoga Membership Club, I highly recommend purchasing the kit detailed below. I created Face Yoga club for those who want to stay motivated and accountable, running regular online group sessions that are live and interactive, via zoom. Face yoga” describes facial exercises that are performed to tone and stretch the muscles in the face, usually in an attempt to fight off signs of aging.

Helping others to find and then share their passion is at the core of what I do and exactly why I created accredited teacher training in Face Yoga. I am the founder of The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method and offer teacher training courses around the World. The Method has been featured in hundreds of leading publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar The Telegraph and The Daily Mail. The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method has over 2000 teachers Worldwide (including teachers still in training) and this is growing daily. It is an honour to see so many amazing people sharing the positive benefits of Face Yoga through teaching others. Clean your hands and face with a gentle cleanser, then massage your face all over (you may want to use coconut oil to make this easier). Gently press your fingertips into your facial muscles to relieve any strain. Make sure to pay attention to your “third eye” (the space between your brows), massaging for 30 minutes and circling around your eyes. (You may want to try using your fits around your forehead and eyes too.) Decreasing straining, pain and tension in overworked muscles (similarly to how regular yoga benefits people with muscles tension and helps promote overall relaxation) So where did it all start? Well I was born and brought up in Plymouth and moved to Bath to study Education and English Literature at Bath Spa University and achieved a first class honours. After this at age 21 I was diagnosed with M.E and was very ill for 18 months. Despite doctors telling me there was no known cure for this illness I was determined to get better and started introducing natural nutrition, relaxation, exercise, Yoga and Pilates in to my life. I then fully recovered and felt an overwhelming desire to help and inspire others to feel healthier and happier in the same way I had been able to help myself, so I completed Diplomas in Face Massage, Professional Relaxation Therapy, Nutrition, Hatha Yoga and Pre and Post Natal Yoga with the British School of Yoga. I also did introductory training in Thai Yoga Massage, Shiatsu, Indian Head Massage, the Alexander Technique, EFT and Meditation. I am a fully qualified Reiki practitioner and have completed my Reiki level 1 and Reiki level 2 training. If performing facial exercises isn’t really your thing but you’re intrigued by the idea of paying closer attention to the connection between your face and overall health, consider learning more about face mapping.I "Ansigts yoga" bogen fremstiller Danielle Collins ansigtsøvelser, der inkluderer massage, akupressur, afslapning og velvære praktiker. Use your fingers to form “binocular” shape around your eyebrows, cheeks and across the face. Lift your eyebrows without wrinkling the forehead too much, then squint and then lift them again. Aim to repeat about 50 times. 2. Forehead Lifter

Learning face yoga techniques is one thing, but keeping the momentum going is another thing entirely - this is where I come in, your face yoga fairy godmother! I completed the 6 week course which was delivered in a professional and friendly way, and it really kept me inspired to keep it up. I liked how the classes were recorded so I could watch them again, and I found myself using the techniques both in the mornings and evenings as part of my skin care routine. Last but certainly not least, I also offer 60 minute online or in person personalised one to one sessions for those who wish to focus on their own specific concerns.
