About this deal

Cadian Armoured Regiment, "Rolling Thunder" - The 81st Cadian were also known as the "Gunheads". They fought on the Ork World of Golgatha where they were at first lead by Colonel Kochatkis Vinneman, and later by Lieutenant Gossefried van Droi.

Majority Ballistic Skill of 4+ to hit means you suddenly get very inaccurate if your enemy inflicts hit penalties on you There are a couple of units which sound hilarious on paper but are tragically ineffective on the table This book dramatically expands what you can do with some extra rules for making your own regiments, using tank aces, and adding loads more depth to your elite option for core troops: the Tempestus Scions. For more info, see our rules breakdown on the Guard stuff from this book here. Note that everything here will likely be rendered obsolete when the 9th edition of the main Codex comes out.Cadia had a special and honoured place in the history of Mankind. Cadia stood upon the edge of the Eye of Terror within a narrow corridor of stable space called the Cadian Gate. This formed the one and only predictable passage between the Chaos-infested Daemon Worlds of the Eye of Terror and Terra. During the era of the Great Crusade, it fell to the Imperialis Militia to secure and to hold those worlds brought to Imperial Compliance by the Crusade's Expeditionary Fleets. Part of the vast, sprawling body of the Imperium's military and its support structure, known collectively as the Excertus Imperialis, these regiments formed what was in effect the lowest and most common run of the wider Imperial Army, or the Imperialis Auxilia as it was more precisely known. Once a world was declared Compliant and under the full control of an appointed and independent Imperial Commander, part of that Commander's principal duty was the raising of an Imperialis Militia to protect their domain and sustain their control. The PDF, as essentially the local military of an Imperial world, has no standardisation and can take any form; some, such as the PDF of Hive Worlds, may be no more than legitimised gangs supported and armed by the local planetary government to keep down the more anarchic elements. When facing any internal or external threat, it is the responsibility of the PDF to engage the enemy until Imperial reinforcements such as the Astra Militarum or Space Marines can be mustered by the nearby Sector Command. The Imperialis Militia was not a coherent, galaxy-spanning organisation by any means, and, except in times of great emergency, was not subject to the chains of command of the Imperial Army. Rather, each was a colonial defence force raised from a planet's own populace and its commander-in-chief was the Imperial Commander of the world it defended. Some were ancient martial classes with their roots in the Age of Strife, while others were irregular levies activated only in direst need, and in most cases the template of command structure and hierarchy imposed by the Imperium's Principia Militaris was adhered to only in its generality. The standards of equipment and pattern of accoutrement of individual Imperialis Militia regiments were just as varied. Some wore gaudy dress uniforms or burnished plasmesh chainmail, others furs and hides, while some few might be clad in advanced armour such as local pattern semi-powered Carapace Armour. Each militia's kit was dictated by the culture, environment and technological base of their homeworld, and so also was the diversity of their weapons, within a minimum standard issued them from the Principia Militaris Command.

Note: The Cadian Gate was guarded by the Astartes Praeses but also by elements of 21 other Chapters deployed across the Cadian Sector. This Battleforce is a great foundation for a Leagues of Votann army, as it’s exactly 750 points of great units. If you pair the Defenders of the Ancestors up with a Combat Patrol box, you almost have an army that could take on anything! If you build out from there, you can have a 2000 point of height challenged individuals in no time! Tyranids – Onslaught SwarmBefore the later Imperial re-colonisation of the world in the 32nd Millennium, Cadia was the home of a lost fragment of Humanity that worshiped the four Chaos Gods, probably since the onset of the Age of Strife. This society was encountered by the then-still-Loyalist Word Bearers Legion 40 Terran years before the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, and the prevalence of violet eyes amongst the populace was seen as a mark of mutation caused by the proximity of the Eye of Terror, which also appears violet in the visible light spectrum. Imperial icon used to designate Planetary Governors, who serve as the commanders-in-chief of their local Planetary Defence Force.

The latest addition to the roster of 40k armies, the World Eaters also get a Battleforce for the holiday season! Following the trend of the big boxes containing the Daemon Primarchs, this time it’s Angron who’s leading his Berzerkers and Eightbound into the fray. Cadian society in the 41st Millennium is more martial than civilian, mostly due to the disproportionate ratio of soldiers to citizens in its population. The birth rate and the military recruitment rate are synonymous. Most Cadian children learn to field-strip a Lasgun by the age of ten standard years, and many young Cadians served in the Astra Militarum as Whiteshields.

Space Marines – Spearhead Force

Because of its closeness to the Eye of Terror, Cadia also maintained the Internal Guard for defense against Chaos cult activities. A less well-known part of the Cadian military establishment, the Internal Guard consisted of Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus that had been permanently seconded to the Cadian military, and made frequent use of Sanctioned Psykers. [1c] Society In many cases, these were often older Imperial Army veterans retired from the Great Crusade into a position where their skills and experience might still serve the Imperium. The darker side of this coin was the indenture of prisoners, recidivists and thousands considered to be members of Abhumanity mutations below the standard of the accepted human norm, but not so debased as to warrant immediate extermination. These forces often served the Imperialis Militia entirely unwillingly, their control guaranteed by cadres of veteran Discipline Masters, and the ruthless application of lethal sanction and chemical inducement where needed. Perhaps, just as a veteran can lead lesser men to deeds of great heroism, Cadia had inspired those worlds around it to defend every nation and city to the last bullet. Perhaps Cadia's surviving soldiery lent strength through their hunger for retribution. Perhaps those battered by the storm simply fought for survival. Whatever the reason, the defenders of the Cadian Gate resolved to uphold the virtues of its lost lynchpin world come what may.

So what do you get inside and how much would it cost you normally? All of the points have been given for the basic unit options and include no upgrades, but you can make changes with the way some models are built. Leagues of Votann – Defenders of the Ancestors Warhammer Community / Games Workshop Unit And last, but not least, the Orkz will also stomp their way into the lineup of Christmas boxes. This year, the theme of Beast Snaggas continue – hence the name of the Battleforce – with Mozrog Skragbad leading his best Boyz into battle. The continent of Cadia Primus was half-drowned, its forested mountainsides now isolated islands scattered across a new ocean. Cadia Secundus lay wreathed in fire, its continental plates sinking as the pressure of their neighbours forced them steadily inwards. None of it mattered. Cadia was already dead. Cadia itself was a bleak, merciless and wind-blown planet, where only the strongest survived to adulthood and discipline was learned from the moment a babe took his or her first steps. Cold winds howled across wide, sundered plains where armies trained with live ammunition and every solar day not spent training was believed to be a day wasted. Every Cadian fortress-city, or " Kasr," was a massive citadel, with the streets and buildings fashioned with great tactical cunning by the finest military engineers and siege specialists of the Astra Militarum. The fall of Cadia represented a once-unimaginable triumph for the servants of the Dark Gods, and the Eye of Terror began to slowly expand without limit, opening Abaddon the Despoiler's coveted Crimson Path to Terra and creating the Great Rift that soon divided the Imperium in half.Had Cadia not been famous for holding so long against the odds, it is likely the other planets in the system would have capitulated or given up almost immediately. No normal world could stand in the face of the horrendous, sanity-devouring armies that descended upon the Cadian Gate in such terrifying measure. However, the wider systems of Cadia, Belis Corona, and Agripinaa stood fast. When a section of a Cadian cemetery's grave markers were deemed illegible, those graves were exhumed and the bones were added to a communal pit. The Cadian belief was that once the names on a grave marker were illegible, the honours of those dead were forgotten. While one of the main factions of 40k’s 10 th Edition are the Space Marines, they couldn’t be the heroes of the story without the Tyranids, specifically Hive Fleet Leviathan. The Hive Mind sent some reinforcements so that the Tyranids can stay on the offensive after winning the Battle for Oghram with a new Battleforce – including the new Big Boi™ of the Nids. We know that the troops for the Astra Militarum is fairly cheap – after all, there are billions of men and women in the Imperial Guard. Thanks to the tanks, the total Points value of this box comes out to 705 points, which should provide a solid foundation for a Militarum army. Or a great addition if you’re trying to round your 2000 Points list out! Space Marines – Spearhead Force Armageddon Defense Force - The PDF of Armageddon participated in the defence of that Hive World during the multiple campaigns fought against the Forces of Chaos ( First War for Armageddon) as well as Ork forces ( Second War for Armageddon and Third War for Armageddon).
