In " Star Wars: The Clone Wars — " The Unknown"" during the Battle of Ringo Vinda, Rex establishes that he is not an Advanced Recon Commando. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas states that Rex served as an ARC trooper, he must have become one sometime after that battle.

Captain Rex participated in an operation to infiltrate the "Dome" alongside Wolffe, Gregor, and multiple other allies.
