To my mind, Nespresso has the best range of capsules for any pod coffee machine. The CitiZ & Milk is Nespresso's best mid-range OriginalLine machine. By "mid-range" we mean any of the machines shy of the Lattissima Series.

While the CitiZ & Milk doesn't come with a preset button for Americanos (espresso + hot water, like a regular coffee) like the Essenza Plus does, you can easily use the programmable buttons to set up your own Americano system:

As a pod machine, maintenance is at a minimum. Aside from emptying the capsules when the container is full, you’ll need to regularly wash out the drip dray. Regular Nespresso machines such as this one tend to drip quite a bit, so the tray can become quite dirty. The larger Nespresso Vertuo Next uses different pods that are spun at the end to prevent dripping. Vertuo is a different experience, built around larger mug-fulls of coffee, so may not suit your needs. Fitted with an Aeroccino, optimized in space, which prepares perfect milk froth and hot milk automatically, CitiZ&milk allows you to create an endless number of milk-based coffee recipes at the touch of a button. The fast heat-up system reaches the ideal temperature in just 25 seconds, while the automatic energy-saving function switches the machine off after 9 minutes of inactivity, making your life easier. It was the same for the lungo, too, with the 110ml being delivered consistently regardless of the capsule used.

For our money, OriginalLine machines are better than VertuoLine machines because their pump produces more authentic espresso, the coffee tends to be hotter, and there's no barcode scanning system meaning you can find less-expensive third-party capsules. The user-friendly features include two programmable buttons with automatic flow-stop for Espresso and Lungo coffee preparations, as well as a removable drip tray for taller glass recipes. VertuoLine: Their new line that uses Centrifusion (rapid capsule spinning) to extract shots from barcode-enabled capsules but also brews standard coffee up to 17 oz Brewing coffee couldn’t be easier.
