The court may extend that period; but an application for such an extension must be made before the end of the period as originally fixed or as subsequently extended.

For applications under Article 10, including Articles 10(1)(a) and 10(2)(a), the England and Wales Central Authority would be grateful to receive three copies of each document, accompanied by translations into English (if necessary). however, in proceedings which have as their object tenancies of immovable property concluded for temporary private use for a maximum period of six consecutive months, the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which the defendant is domiciled shall also have jurisdiction, provided that the landlord and the tenant are natural persons and are domiciled in the same part of the United Kingdom; Text of the Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Act 1982 as in force today (including any amendments) within the United Kingdom, from legislation.gov.uk.

Note also that the Private International Law (Implementation of Agreements) Act 2020 contains provisions giving legal effect in domestic law to the 2005 Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements and amending the Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments (Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements 2005) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/1124), which came into force at the end of the Transition Period.
