All of these products leave your face feeling tingly because they contain menthol. That tingle is an allergic reaction that reddens the skin and increases irritation inside pores, trapping bacteria inside even when oil is not present in excess. We do not recommend anything that increases skin irritation. This line should be avoided. Clean & Clear Deep Action and Deep-Cleaning Products The disadvantage of Titanium Dioxide is that it's not cosmetically elegant, meaning it's a white, "unspreadable" mess. Sunscreens containing Titanium Dioxideare often hard to spread on the skin and they leave a disturbing whitishtint. The cosmetic industry is, of course, really trying to solve this problemand the best solution so far is using nanoparticles. The itsy-bitsy Nano-sized particles improveboth spreadability and reduce the whitish tint a lot, but unfortunately, it also introduces new health concerns. OIL DOES NOT MOISTURISE YOUR FACE. WIPES DO NOT CLEAN YOUR FACE. LEMON IS NOT HEALTHY FOR YOUR FACE. CHARCOAL MASKS DO NOTHING FOR YOUR FACE. AND IF YOU GET A CHEMICAL BURN FROM A PRODUCT, DON'T USE MORE OF THAT PRODUCT. Ahem with that out the way- Nip+Fab was mostly perfume Exposed products are SLS- and paraben-free, use naturally-sourced ingredients and are made in North America. Instead, we recommend a skincare line that is paraben- and sulfate-free, gentle on the skin and proven to work.

The three basics are cleanse, moisturise and sunscreen. If those aren't right don't even try with treatments, because without the base to skincare, there is little to no point. If you are over-stripping your skin it can cause this strange extremity of oily/dry combination skin, which is what I had at the time. This extreme imbalance makes any acne you try to deal with worse. Instead of over-stripping, hydration can actually help reset this and help your acne be better. At first glance, Clean & Clear Advantage Invisible Acne Patch seems like a great way to zap a zit, especially on oily skin. The tiny patch contains just a dab of salicylic acid, enough to stop inflammation and remove redness overnight. The problem is that the patch not only contains salicylic acid that removes redness, it also contains cinnamon oil that can cause redness. If you are allergic to cinnamon, definitely do not use this product. Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Cleanser If you are looking for an exfoliating scrub, we have a better recommendation. We love this Microderm Scrub that uses tiny corundum crystals to polish away dead skin cells. This helps improve overall skin texture for a smoother, radiant complexion while using chamomile extract to soothe skin and grape seed oil to repair damaged skin. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Oil Absorbing SheetsIn the evening, sometimes I would only use a wipe on my face and a charcoal mask. Strangely, that was better than what I did when I wasn't lazy. When I did my routine, I'd use whatever wipe on my face, followed by the clean and clear scrub again (at least I was....sorta double cleansing?) Then my normal charcoal mask, and wash it off. After that I'd use lemon, yes straight lemon, on my acne and dark pigmentation. Then I'd use the nip+fab dragons blood serum, hey at least I was making sure to sensitise my skin with fragrance as well as over-stripping it. Sometimes I'd go on with the clean and clear moisturiser, but most of the time I just used the garnier dry oil on my face again. Anyway here are the lessons I learned from that-I am glad to report that this routine, it was not it chief. This question came to mind when I suddenly remembered a horrible thing- My skincare "routine" at age 14. May the Lord forgive me for my sins. And if there are any products that you recommend I switch to, please let me know! I've noticed that if I use their products continuously for about a week my face gets irritated, so I usually only 'wash' my face with products 2-3 times a week. I'd like to do it more, but with something that isn't so irritating. Anyways, I've never really seen anything about Clean and Clear products on here. Maybe it's because I haven't spent much time here, or maybe it's because it's a terrible product to be using and no one talks about it because it's common knowledge. I was just wondering what you all thought of the products they have.

Clean & Clear Soft Oil-Free Day Moisturizer SPF-15 is a light lotion that uses avobenzone to protect the skin from harmful UV-A rays, and contains antioxidants.Deep Cleaning Astringent for Sensitive Skin also might not be all that bad except for the fact that the alkali in the soap cancels out the exfoliant ability of the salicylic acid added to the product. The product is at least not harmful to the skin. Deep Cleaning Astringent also has salicylic acid in a high-pH product that neutralizes it, along with alcohol that can dry out the skin. Another thing SAP might be able to do is to help with acne. A 2005 study showed in vitro (in test tubes) that 1% SAP has a strong antimicrobial activity on evil acne causing P. acnes and it also showed in vivo (on real people) that 5% SAP can strongly improvethe inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions of acne vulgaris. In fact, the results were comparable or even slightly better than with 5% benzoyl peroxide. We recommend Exposed Skincare a lot because they are the only product line that we’ve reviewed that achieves consistent results. Here are a couple of the pros of Exposed Skincare: And finally, influencers do not have flawless skin because of X product they recommended. That is THEIR anecdotal experience, and most of the time ngl- it's clinical treatment or genes getting them that look. Research the ingredients yourself.

Anyway, it doesn't matter if it reflects or absorbs, Titanium Dioxide is a pretty awesome sunscreen agent for two main reasons: it gives a nice broad spectrum coverage and it's highly stable. Its protection is very good between 290 - 350 nm (UVB and UVA II range), and less goodat 350-400 nm (UVA I) range. Regular sized Titanium Dioxide also has a great safetyprofile, it's non-irritating and is pretty much free from any health concerns (like estrogenic effect worries with some chemical filters).Clear Pore Serum: This lightweight gel serum uses 1% salicylic acid to unclog and shrink pores, clarify and balance the skin and help reduce dark spots. Use this in the evening before you go to bed to wake up to brighter skin. When using this product: Skin irritation and dryness is more likely to occur if you use another topical acne medication at the same time. If irritation occurs, only use one topical acne medication at a time. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure and use a sunscreen I think on this sub, scrub=bad, chemical exfoliant=better. At most a physical scrub should be used twice a week if you are going to use them. But the point is, you cannot scrub off your whole ass skin and find a new layer of beautiful skin underneath. It doesn't work that way. In reality it's also about prevention rather than cure. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Detoxifying Cleanser promises to oxygenate the skin. It really can’t, and that’s a good thing, because free radicals of oxygen are highly toxic to the skin. The products in this line include Morning Burst Detoxifying Cleanser, Morning Burst Facial Cleanser, Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser, Morning Burst Detoxifying Facial Scrub, and Morning Burst Facial Scrub. Acne Treatment Serum: This serum contains 3.5% benzoyl peroxide, penetrating deep into pores to kill acne bacteria. This serum is powerful without being too harsh. Use this in the morning after cleansing and toning.

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Phenonxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Disodium Edta, Citric Acid, Sea Salt, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Ethylparaben Clean & Clear Soft-In Shower Facial is a slightly creamy soap containing plastic beads that are supposed to do the work of microdermabrasion in a one-minute application used in the shower. The product also contains a tiny amount of alpha-hydroxy acids that are supposed to exfoliate the skin, but the soap in the product changes the pH so the alpha-hydroxy acids won’t work, and they just get rinsed off the skin in a few seconds, anyway. Oh and also, I chemically burned myself TWICE with the clean and clear spot treatment, and when I got the burn I applied MORE SPOT TREATMENT. Dear God. Instead, we recommend a Facial Cleanser that combines salicylic acid with pure natural extracts. Specifically, this Facial Cleanser from Exposed Skincare has pro-vitamin B5 to regulate oil production and sage extract to prevent dryness. We really like it because it’s soap-free and hypoallergenic, so skin is left cleansed and refreshed without damaging the moisture barrier. Clean & Clear Soft Oil-Free Night MoisturizerClean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment is gel used to zap zits individually. The problem with the treatment is that it is mostly made of alcohol, which dries out the skin. The alcohol can kill acne bacteria on the surface of the skin, but the drying action of the alcohol may trap other acne bacteria inside pores. Unlike most other Clean & Clear products, it would be fair to rate Clean & Clear Soft Purifying Cleanser at “not all that bad.” It contains alpha-hydroxy acids that can exfoliate dry skin, opening tight pores, and salicylic acid that can open clogged pores on oily skin, although not in very high amounts, and in not in a formulation that will keep them on your face long enough to do you much good. This cleanser is completely fine, but nothing special. The main concernwith nanoparticles is that they are so tiny that they are absorbedinto the skin more than we want them (ideally sunscreen should remain on the surface of the skin). Once absorbed they might form unwanted complexes with proteins and they might promote the formation of evil free radicals. But do not panic, these are concerns under investigation. A 2009 review article about the safety of nanoparticles summarizes this, "to date, in-vivo and in-vitro studies have not demonstrated percutaneous penetration of nanosized particles in titanium dioxide and zinc oxide sunscreens". The English translation is, so far it looks like sunscreenswith nanoparticlesdo stay on the surface of the skin where they should be. Let’s start with the product that is almost usable. Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub might be OK for non-sensitive skin if it did not contain menthol, but like we said, menthol causes redness and irritation in most skin types. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Oil Absorbing Sheets are squares of polyethylene plastic used to mop up excess oil from the face. Most users find that the face is still shiny even after use of the sheets. These create a lot of waste and may not really work.
