About this deal

However, in the 1960s, more and more of Clynelish's spirit was going into the blends, and in the 1960s there was a boom and people were buying more luxury items such as cars and whisky. They needed to up their production levels so in 1967 they built the current distillery in which they produce today. The two distilleries ran side-by-side as Clynelish A and Clynelish B for a while, as they wanted to make sure they had perfected the taste in the new space, then they closed the older distillery. [2]

These experiences have honed my palate and provided me with a profound understanding of the vast world of spirits.

Clynelish 14yo has True Grit

Clear worts and long ferments start the process, while distillation involves maximising copper conversation –unusually, but not uniquely, Clynelish’s spirit stills are larger than its wash stills. This is an excellent choice for those who enjoy rum, as it offers a delicious profile reminiscent of rum.

Clynelish 14 is a highly approachable Scotch that balances complexity and smoothness with a harmonious blend of fruity and spicy flavors and rich maltiness. Risk worked in close co-operation with DCL and the blending firm of John Walker & Sons and, when the latter was folded into DCL in 1925, Clynelish came too. It closed in the 1930s, but produced small amounts of spirit during the Second World War. In common with a large number of DCL distilleries, a new plant with six stills was built alongside the original distillery in 1968 (until then, Clynelish had only a single pair of stills). The old plant was put into mothballs for a year before running alongside as ‘Clynelish B’.Nose: Classic zesty, waxy and mineral aromas, accompanied by toffee and honey, melted butter on toast and a whiff of marshmallows. Whiff of orange peel and green grapes. Undeniably Clynelish. No partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship is created as a result of your use of the Service.
