Episode 2824 from October 1977 – Toni hatches a plan designed to make Sandy take things a little easier – unfortunately, it’s to do with Lynn Baxter, whom he has been studiously avoiding. Carney has a bit of a cough. Episode 3127 from April 1979 – Rosemary with a mad glint in her eye takes Diane to task. Ted gives Kathryn the push. Kathryn doesn’t take it too well. Chris takes great pleasure in his parent’s displeasure at his latest ploy. Episode 3027 from October 1978 – Meg invites Tish Hope to a threesome with her and Edith Tatum. Jane and Diane remain concerned about Benny’s disappearance. Jane goes on to confess that she’s been having nightmares, feeding Diane’s paranoia about her possible instability. Episode 2689 from February 1977 – Vera has a serious talk with Mrs Merrow about Clive. Jim winds Frank up so much that a blow is exchanged. Stan explains his plans for expansion and Meg agrees to be a guarantor for a bank loan. Episode 2869 from December 1977 – Sandy is still basking in the glow of his engagement announcement. Kate is pleased with herself when Tony asks her out for a meal. Carney and Ed try to cheer Benny up but fail miserably when he announces that Maureen has just died.

Episode 3050 from November 1978 – Benny has his hair cut to make an impression at the garage, but Doris Luke thinks he may make the wrong one in his filthy overalls. Victor has a bit of a pout about the daily workload while Bernard takes Doris to task for talking to Helen. In 2005, to celebrate Crossroads’ 40th anniversary, the first of four ‘general volumes’ were released. Volume One aimed to release some of the better-remembered editions of the soap – although of course due to the archive being very scarce for the early ATV years it ultimately became clear that many of the better episodes were lost forever, so second or third best episodes would have to be used. Episode 1981 from September 1973 – Plans for Sandy’s anniversary party proceed apace, but keeping the secret from Meg is harder than he anticipated. Rita Witton teeters on the edge of a nervous breakdown and tries to hand in her notice to Meg. This 4-disc set features examples from many memorable storylines including Sandy's accident, Meg's wedding, David Hunter being shot, Adam and Jill's 'big day', a mid-70s Christmas party and a very special bonfire night at the motel!
