About this deal

My questions is: D3 2007 just turned 315000km (~195000miles) the last 20k ran by me in the last 2 years. The plastic drain plug was quite mangled; the 10mm hex was rounded so it was difficult to get off and not possible to achieve the 8Nm to tighten it again. Perhaps someone had tried to change the oil and not succeeded. Recommended to change oil every 10 years. Next sevice on my 07 D3 it's diffs and transfer box. Engine oil of course changed at the service along with oil filter. To change the subject slightly how many owners have had to change the sump due to corrosion? I had to do mine when the car was 5 years old! Transfer Gearbox 2.3 Litres Evolution 2 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil or GL5 Multigrade Gear Oil EP 80W90

I went to the Audi dealership. They are selling it as an individual item. To my knowledge there are 3 sort of plugs. Best is to take a picture of yours to compare. It was a 5€ item 1 year ago. Achim saw the second generation of Discovery models which were on sale up until 2009 at which point, Land Rover completely changed the aesthetic and building platform. If you do the former you need to have specialist equipment but you will get a full oilchange at one go. If you do the latter it is a 2 stage approach and you will only change about 75% of the oil. Yes, it seems that there's a very sharp cut off line: fall one side of it and (estimated dilution at 10% of course) things run smoothly. Fall the other side of it and the cars are a nightmare. The point behind this refresh is really to raise awareness in general and particularly to alert second owners. Many cars will have fallen one side of that line with the first owner (company car, sales rep, etc), but then been resold to someone who is doing only 6000 miles a year around town and - bingo - a car that was OK, suddenly becomes a basket case.In case you are wondering why I needed an engine in the first place (at only 100K miles), it was all down to a glowplug tip that fell off and did an amazing amount of damage to piston, valves, head and turbo. That in turn was put down to a failed attempt a couple of years earlier to extract the seized glowplug by various means, which probably weakened it - a futile and costly exercise.

i bet it is in trying to do the oil on a bmw , can at least put my suspension into off road height, lol For transfer gearboxes and axles, you could opt for a multigrade EP80W90 (gives better flow from start up than EP90 on cold mornings) gear oil to API GL5. If you want the very best lubrication for the axles and transfer box then go for a 75W90 fully synthetic gear oil to API GL5 such as our Evolution 2 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil.Sharing this platform with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, the Discovery became more modern, but arguably less practical. Consequently, we recommend a 10W40 viscosity grade with a high synthetic content that meets API grade SL/CF or ACEA grade A3/B3. This will give good economy but still cope with the most severe demands likely to be placed on the engine, even if it has been performance enhanced (which often increases the combustion by-products building up in the oil, something an ACEA A3/B3 grade can take in its stride). Prepare the second bottle by marking the half litre point, and also make sure the second bottle is readily available near you when you are underneath the car,

I've decided to do an oil change on my D3 Transfer Box, and have taken some pictures along the process. The first family type was released as a three-door with a five-door following shortly after. All these vehicles had five seats with the option of using two jump seats in the boot.
