Jake E – As I said, alternatively just bring the Standards up to sync with Limiteds, instead of delaying the standard range by a year plus. Either way, this range needs some kind of marketing boost at the very, very least, though personally I would still prefer the Limiteds to be re-printed at least in small batches and simply brand them as “deluxe” or “luxury” versions. Hours of material going behind-the-scenes on production of Arc Of Infinity, Snakedance and The Five Doctors. All episodes have been newly remastered from the best available sources – these classic adventures have never looked or sounded so good on home media.

I just think there needs to be a serious re-engagement with fans and customers again – as I say, HMV are already way ahead on the ball with the Season 12 batch re-releases, that’s exactly what should be happening with every other previous set as far as I’m concerned.

Side guide

It kind of throws everything including the kitchen sink and pipes, and out of nowhere develops ideas decades ahead of its time.

Join Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton on an hilarious European Road Trip. WHEN JANET MET MARTIN It’ll be interesting to see if we get Season 16 next instead of Season 20. A set for Doctors 3, 4, and 5 for the 60th anniversary seems apt, followed by a Troughton and a McCoy in 2024.Adventures in Type and Space – A Celebration of Classic Doctor Who Title Sequences - 11 December 2023 [88] talking to and I don’t know who he’s talking to. In Conversation - Matthew Sweet chats to Bob Baker, writer of Nightmare Of Eden, co-creator of K9 and one of the creative forces behind Wallace & Gromit Including Australian interviews with Peter Davison and Janet Fielding shot during production of this season. The other related incident was an agent learning from online blabbermouths that one of their client’s works was being readied for release before they’d been officially told. The result delayed the release of a 4th Doctor story and helped lead to the increased secrecy restrictions. In 1989, Doctor Who was on a creative high, with the Seventh Doctor and his companion Ace revitalising the programme for a new generation. Season 26 featured four epic adventures traversing a future Britain invaded by inter-dimensional knights, a strange Victorian house haunted by ghosts from Ace’s past, an alien world populated by Cheetah People and a 1940s army camp under siege from monstrous vampires.

It’s just ian being ian. Shouting first ask questions later. I get that he’s impatient and with his age I kind of understand but he always has been a I want it all now kind of guy and the way he does it rubs people the wrong way as it comes across as entitled as he returned episodes and feels he’s owed . Although Season 17 was crippled behind-the-scenes by strike action (resulting in the season finale being abandoned part-way through production), it remains a beloved slice of Doctor Who history, featuring the return of Davros and the Daleks, and one of the all-time classic stories, Douglas Adams’ own City Of Death. Season 24 only had Limited and Standard out at the same time due to poor sales. Too many more instances of that and then BBC may pull the plug so I wouldn’t be praising that if I were you, if you want them to complete all sets and possibly do Wilderness etc. Anonymous, I’m referring to where you say flash drive would be easier then you might as well go for Britbox streaming I would say if you are going to do straight through your TV rather than change a disc but Blu-Rays are better of course.

All episodes have been newly remastered from the best available sources including original film elements for The Five Doctors – these classic adventures have never looked or sounded so good on home media. Doctor Who: The Collection – Season 20 In the US, sets typically release a few months after the UK release, with the exception of seasons 12, 19 and 18 which were released closer to, or in some cases before, the UK release. With all episodes newly remastered from the best available sources, this Blu-ray box set also contains extensive and exclusive special features including: Rare Convention Footage: Including Australian interviews with Peter Davison and Janet Fielding shot during production of this season I’ve said it here before, and I know it’s a bit controversial – re-release all of the out of print sets, as HMV is already repeatedly doing with Season 12; instead of “Limited”, just call the main product “The Collection”.In Australia, the logo and cover text were reduced in size to accommodate the Australian age rating on the front cover. The Season 12 and 19 releases matched that of the UK Collectors Edition releases, minus the J-card, which was slightly different. Subsequent releases, starting with season 18, were put out in a slipcase style, with a grey sleeve replacing the interior card case, resulting in a loss of several pieces of artwork. Given so many contributors to Season 2, be they in front of or behind the camera, are sadly no longer with us you’d be forgiven for pondering if there would be a limited amount of material. Far from it. There are two brand new In Conversation interviews with Matthew Sweet alongside William Russell and Maureen O’Brien. Both are excellent and provide wonderful detail into the experiences of two companions of the early days of Doctor Who. O’Brien‘s tale is particularly fascinating. Not initially keen to join the show, content with her stage roles. Then she’s tasked with appeasing Hartnell. As usual these interviews are wonderfully broad and yet detailed. A sheer delight to watch. Added to that, credit sequences themselves loop on end for Logopolis when watching with updated vfx. With guest stars including Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart), Anthony Ainley (The Master), Jean Marsh, Nicholas Parsons, Anne Reid, Ian Hogg, Sylvia Syms and comedy duo Hale & Pace, this fondly-remembered set of stories saw the end of an era for Doctor Who, and set the stage for its hugely successful revival.
