I tend to sleep solo, near the edge of the mattress, and I still felt supported and stable. When I asked a heavier person to try it out, although they experienced no significant problems with rolling when sleeping alone, they did notice some sloping if they lay too close to the mattress edge. The Emma Premium Mattress is also a good option to consider, especially if you're after a mattress that is designed to keep you cool all night! Its features include:

More than one year on, I still think the Emma Original is one of the best mattresses you can buy in the UK right now. It’s comfortable, but fairly soft, and yet provides fantastic support no matter what position you sleep in – making it a particularly good choice for people who move around a lot at night. The removable cover is also machine washable, and we have washed it a few times already during testing. It hasn’t bobbled or shrunk in the machine, but we did find it easier to remove than to put on again - we’d recommend asking a friend or family member to help. Several months in and there is no sagging on our Emma Original, which we would expect from a new mattress. That’s also thanks to a layer of HRX (High Resiliency Extra) Supreme Foam designed to stay firmer for longer and to prevent sagging, and also to provide good body support and comfort for years to come. The hot sleepers on our testing panel found it a little warm to sleep on, while those who sleep colder or who have no issues with temperature either way during sleep found the Emma Original to be neither hot nor cold. The Emma Original is made with three individual layers plus the cover. Starting from the top down, the UltraDry Original Cover is temperature-regulating. While the hot sleepers on our review panel found it warm to the touch during sleep, none of our testers overheated on the mattress.Still, if you overheat, consider a hybrid mattress instead - we walk you through it in our Simba vs Emma mattress comparison.

You’ll have 200 nights to test out the firmness for yourself, and if you find it either too soft or too firm, Emma will send you a free comfort layer (firm or soft) to adjust the feel of the mattress to suit your body. Emma Original mattress: Performance On my Emma Original review model, I tested the standard cover. This is made from soft-touch fabric, and is hypoallergenic and breathable. It can be zipped off and cleaned in the washing machine. In all seriousness, I would never have imagined that an Emma mattress could possibly be more comfortable than a [well-known brand] orthopaedic mattress. The reduction in pain levels has been truly remarkable. Emma Hybrid MattressWe'd recommend it particularly if you like a more bouncy mattress that keeps your body supported! It is suited to all types of sleepers though, so we've got you covered. Our range includes single, small double, double, king size, and super king size options, all crafted with a medium firmness rating. No matter your preferred sleeping position or unique needs, we've got you covered. Sleep soundly and wake up refreshed with Emma!

Emma Premium– Six layers of foam and a spring core make this a truly dreamy-soft and comfortable mattress for all sleeping positions. The 5-zone CarbonFlex core has extra-tall springs for better bounce, while the Airgocell® foam allows the air to circulate and keep things cooler all night long. A Which? Best Buy winner for innovation. Are Emma mattresses any good? Place the box near the bed frame where the mattress is going, and make sure you've got enough space around you to roll it out. You don’t need to flip the Emma Original, so the white cover should always remain on the top. You can rotate it to spread out normal wear and tear (see our guide on how often should you rotate a mattress for more). You can use it on any bed frame and even place it directly on the floor too, but if using a slatted frame, ensure those slats aren’t more than 7.5cm apart otherwise you could cause sagging. I was coming from the OTTY Pure, which of course feels quite different, being a hybrid. But all you should know is that, if you’re looking for a fairly soft mattress then the Emma Original is a good place to start. What better way to test it, than to actually sleep on it? As it wasn’t a free sample, I am not duty bound to be polite about it. I can be as honest as I like– and that’s how I prefer things 🙂That’s difficult to answer, as they all reach exceptionally high standards of manufacturing quality, support and, most importantly, comfort. If you suffer from night sweats or are a ‘hot’ sleeper, you may find the Premium best, thanks to its extra layer of Airgocell® foam. The adaptive nature of Emma mattresses means that while the range may be small compared to larger brands, there’s bound to be one that will suit you. Incredible mattress. It truly is the most comfortable mattress ever. Delivery was fast, even to the Highlands. Firmness Rating of Emma Mattresses For this Tom’s Guide review we tested a double size Emma Original mattress over a period of seven months, abiding by our mattress testing methodology to gauge performance to the best of our abilities. Here’s another buzzword, used to describe how much a mattress is able to isolate motion being transferred from one person to another. It’s an important feature for restless sleepers and for couples who have different sleep schedules and, as a result, keep waking each other up with their comings and goings. I found this mattress to be cosy and comfortable from the first night. I'm 5ft 2in and weigh 50kg, and I found it especially supportive for side sleeping. I felt some very slight pressure at the hips when sleeping on my side – a common experience among people with a lighter body weight – but certainly not enough for it to be painful.

These high levels of motion isolation were also apparent in my real-world tests. Even though the small double I was reviewing was pretty cramped with two people on it, I could barely feel my partner's movements when they changed position or got in or out of bed. I feel confident in giving the Emma Original mattress high scores when it comes to motion isolation, and would recommend this mattress to anyone sharing a bed with a restless sleeper. Emma has used hollow polyester fibres here, which regulates humidity effectively. The grey underside is made of 87% polyester and 13% polypropylene which makes it extra resistant to abrasion. When you sink into an Emma mattress, the foam adapts to cushion and support you. The Airgocell® ensures that the mattress stays well ventilated and cooler all night long. The result is a great night’s sleep, whatever the season. Can you sleep on an Emma mattress straight away?

Those experiencing discomfort or pain from pressure points (usually when some part of your body gets pressed or pinched when they're supporting too much weight) will usually benefit from moving to a softer mattress. Side sleepers on very firm mattresses can often have their arms and shoulders pinched between their body and the mattress. Any of our taller 25cm mattresses should help. While they're softer, these mattresses are still considered 'medium' in firmness, and have been tested for great spinal alignment, for those concerned about overly saggy soft mattresses. An Emma Mattress is the best choice for anyone looking for the perfect balance of comfort, support, and quality at an affordable price. With Emma Sleep, you can rest easy knowing you are sleeping on an award-winning mattress engineered using the latest foam and spring technology. With their mattress trial, you can try it out in your home for 200 nights risk-free. Shop our collection now and discover why it is the UK's most trusted bed-in-a-box brand. Additional information This is a very similar, but upgraded version of the Emma Original. You can do a side-by-side comparison of the two mattresses here, including the differences.
