About this deal

Commercial drone operations: If you plan to use your drone for commercial purposes, you will need permission from the CAA and must have insurance. What are the different types of UK drone licenses?

There are several leagues you can participate in. Some major, some local. Below are some of the most popular leagues; if you wish to use a drone for commercial purposes (get paid) then you need to have permission from the CAA do not fly over congested areas and never fly within 50m of a person, vehicle or building not under your control

Even if you are strictly amateur, anytime you are preparing to race with your drone, remember to carry some spare parts to ensure you can successfully finish your session.

Extreme Fliers is working on a couple of other interesting additions to this design. One is the ability to 3D print custom cases, with the example given being a fun-looking dragon. The other option is a gimbal that protrudes from the bottom of the case, stabilizing the camera as the drone moves. These aren’t available yet, though. Just as the drones themselves are split into categories, so too are the types of flight you can do.We all know that practice makes perfect. Professional drone pilots will tell you that flying a drone is easy, but in a real sense, it’s not. It takes time to master all the controls. There are several other things to think about; what is your drone going to do if it runs out of power or fails? Is it going to land/fall somewhere safe? Are you far enough away from people, buildings and more importantly airfields if you lose control of your drone? Also bear in mind that you can be several miles away from an airfield and still be a hazard to manned aviation. Height is very difficult to judge from the ground, you might still be able to see your drone, just, and yet be well above 400ft. You should also consider that many military helicopters will often return to an airfield from all directions at 500ft and fixed wing aircraft can start descending from 1,000ft about 3 miles away. So the message is this, if you are going to use drones, have a really good think about where you are, keep your drone in sight, consider what aircraft might be flying about and keep clear, it is your responsibility.
