About this deal

The jointing compound wants a 3mm gap (no problem if much larger like 10mm) and in their example they want to highlight an inch depth, despite being a new install, they will still want you to go an inch down on your old patio – this is pretty much the standard and whilst it never guarantees you hold weeds and insects at bay, you give yourself the best possible chance! Can be used in both dry and wet conditions ‐ no more wasted days due to wet weather in fact you have to wet the area. Another quality alternative to Sika: Jointing Compound Stone Grey Easy Joint 12.5 Kilo Patio Mortar What is the purpose of your paving? Are you grouting a rarely used patio? Or a driveway that holds several vehicles? Geo Fix is supplied ready to use and does not require any further mixing or addition of other materials. Ensure that the paving to be jointed is dry and free from loose dirt, oil, debris and grease etc.

All the patio grouts I’ve recommended are specifically made for ease of use. I’ve only selected premixed grouts, and most can be applied single handedly with just a brush. Some products, like the EASYJoint Paving Grout require the paving to be kept wet during application. Bedding Mortars We supply a range of fast set, cement & resin based bedding mortars which are ideal for installing manhole covers, utility access covers, frames, highways ironwork and the bonding of granite, sandstone & porphyry setts, paving slabs, flags and bedding kerbs. Our range of high strength, bedding mortars mean roads, footpaths & highways can be reopened to traffic in as little as 40 minutes, meaning less disruption for the general public. Single-part polymeric compounds are perhaps the simplest form of grouting material; they’re most suitable for use in low-traffic areas like walkways and patios. One thing you should watch for when using this compound is the drying time. I have seen anything up to just under a week for it to be fully cured. So if you’ve laid new stone on sand I would give a little time to settle anyway. It won’t be a problem if it rains though, this product holds up just fine. But, for a large outdoor area, a sand and cement or cement slurry-based mortar might be more appropriate for their lower price and higher load-bearing capabilities. It also forms a solid joint that resists weed and plant growth, yet is permeable allowing water to escape to prevent ponding. They will usually come with a recommendation for use with a minimum joint width and are considered the best grout for patio slabs.

Can be used on joint widths of a minimum of 5 mm wide and a minimum of 15 mm deep. Semi‐rigid allowing for expansion and contraction of paving.Ensure that the paving to be jointed is dry and free from loose dirt, oil, debris and grease etc. it is essential the joint widths are a minimum of 5mm wide with a minimum depth of 25mm. deeper joints can be filled with dry sand or other materials to meet the required minimum depth.
