About this deal

The Pioneer DJ HDJ-X headphones feature sound quality is most likely to attract DJs who want access to extended bass frequency response, with a balanced finish across the mid-levels and highs. The sound of these headphones is pretty brilliant, with absolutely no issues whether you’re playing at low volumes or wall-breaking levels.

The independent ground wire in the 4-core twisted-structure cable gives superior left and right channel separation, improving sound quality. In addition, the HDJ-X10 model features a highly reliable, detachable mini-XLR connector for outstanding sound quality. The thing we like most about the Cue1s though is their styling. Many budget sets of DJ headphones tend to look cheap and toy-like – HF125s we’re looking at you – but the Cue1s have a stylish and pro-feeling design, which can be customised by purchasing replacement coloured ear pads and cables. The sharp look is matched by some DJ-friendly design touches, such as the lightweight, foldable body and detachable cables. The Top to bottom imaging isn’t quite as accurate as left-to-right, but it still comes with plenty of depth to explore. There are many details in these headphones, with excellent performance around the 500 to 700hz environment. Although not everyone will be a fan of the unique soundstage offered by the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10, which makes vocals feel more “in your face”, it’s something that will appeal to a lot of DJs.

HDJ-S on-ear headphones

These are DJ headphones that can withstand regular use, no matter how much time and effort you put into your DJ career.

High-quality sound: The HDJ-X10 features a 50mm HD driver, producing a rich and powerful sound across a wide frequency range. Durable construction: The headphones are made with top-grade materials, including a metal frame, so they can withstand the rigors of frequent use. Something that makes the sound stage feel even more impressive with the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10s is the excellent isolation they provided. The polyurethane leather ear pads and headband cushion are resistant to deterioration thanks to the use of nano coating 2, so you can easily wipe off sweat and dirt.

Designed for comfort through periods of extended use, the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10 headphones are great for people who will be spending several hours in action. I was initially not a fan of the predominantly plastic build, thinking they made the headphones feel cheap and flimsy. After a month of stress-testing, I was proven wrong – these things are quite sturdy, at least as far as DJ headphones go, and the light weight makes the headphones bearable even for marathon sets. SoundBuilt with 50mm HD drivers, the HD-X10 was the worlds first DJ headphone to r eproduce high-resolution sound from 5 Hz to 40 kHz (V-Moda Crossfader M-100 Master also now feature high resolution audio). The 32 Ω impedance allows the phone to be easily driven by a phone, laptop or DJ mixer, easily reaching 102dB of volume at its peak. However despite its loud volume, the X10 remains incredibly balanced with just a slight boost the lows and highs. Compared to previous products like the HDJ-2000MK2 which acted as inspiration for the HDJ-X10s, there are some things you might miss from the older products. The slimmer form factor of the 2000MK2 DJ headphones will be more appealing to some. More so than in the studio, you’re likely to move around while DJing and – depending on your style of mixing – move your headphones on and off your ears as you mix. This is where durability and flexibility comes in. Comfort is important too though; no one needs an awkward set of headphones uncomfortably squeezing their head several hours into a marathon DJ set. The earcups feature a large circular screw to attach them to the headband hinge, which makes the whole device feel a little bulky.

The HDJ-X10’s do not lose any sound quality because of mechanical loss, this is due to the diaphragm and voice coil working perfectly in harmony, whilst the 4-core twisted-structure headphone cable ensures you are getting flawless left and right channel separation. When using the X10s with a TOUR1 or NXS2 set-up the headphones really come into a league of their own, giving you high-definition 96 kHz/24-bit audio with amazing clarity so you can monitor better than ever before. There’s absolutely no way that you’re not going to be able to concentrate on your music when you’re wearing these cans. The lower frequencies get a lot more attention here, making it easier to pinpoint specific beats when you’re mixing. Deliveries will be made subject to the terms and conditions of the courier company. djkit.com will not be held responsible for late deliveries.

These are some of the nicest headphones that Pioneer DJ has introduced. However, there’s a chance that the heavy plastic focus in the build may scare off some people who are more intrigued by a luxury feel.
