I then ran the test for the third time, still using the new HDMI lead but connected via the Neet HDMI hub. Sure enough 15 minutes before record time, same as happened originally i.e. momentary total signal loss. The Fox T2 has that but the 2000T doesn't seem to have it as a menu option, it can be solved by splitting the signal to the 2000T and the TV of course assuming you have enough signal. Placing the HDR-2000T in to standby with power saving on at least 40 minutes before the recording then reproduces the initial standby symptoms that were described The HDR-2000T's twin tuners allow two channels to be recorded at once but a nice bonus is that you can also watch and timeshift a third channel at the same time. The timeshift buffer lasts up to two hours. Various suggestions were offered and I tried different HDMI cables, different leads, re-routed them etc. It was also mentioned that the Panasonic TVs HDMI auto select might be the culprit.

Interesting result, though as you know with my device it happens with power saving set to off. We do have very good signal, 100% quality with strength around 85%.My Humax HDR-2000T is 9 years old. Recently some buttons on the remote have become unreliable and I was thinking of just replacing that but the PVR itself is also starting to become a bit temperamental. It occasionally throws up a blank green screen which can only be cleared by cycling the power, which is a faff because of it's location. The other day I was scrolling through the recorded material and it suddenly froze and wouldn't respond to any remote buttons. The remote seemed to be transmitting as it's PVR button was flashing. Again a power cycle cleared it but it has made me think it's time to replace the whole machine. I then went through the tedious task of watching Saturday morning TV via the TVs tuner waiting for the Humax to wake up. Bang on cue at 15 minutes before the programme was set to record a result. This time the TV did not go blank but instead there was momentary picture break-up, freezing and pixilation. We also press pause and play a few times – a fun game in itself – and are pleased with the sensitivity of this live TV control. When you introduce a splitter unless both destinations report identical capability there is clearly an issue.

There are advanced splitters that can control the EDID codes, but of course the delivered audio and video has to be downgraded to the lowest format that both sources support. None of the solutions worked and so I have ended up using a passive splitter (less than a couple of quid). The splitter appears to be much the better option. No degradation of TV signal and no more problems with switching. I can now also use the low power state to save extra pennies. New TV Guide Surf & Scan Banner When watching TV press, the ‘OK’ button a banner appears at the bottom of the screen displaying programme information. Press either the up or down arrows around the OK button to scroll up and down the channel list displayed on the left hand side of the screen, if you then press ‘OK’ again the programme synopsis will be displayed in a larger pop up panel. This provides the option to record the programme or series or set a reminder! Then (with power saving in standby still 'ON') loop through is enabled a few seconds after 18 minutes (same time as HDR-FOX T2s on 1.03.xx) before the scheduled start time of a recording, and the USB ports become powered, and the TV can now see that there is something connected on the HDMI port. During this change of standby state there is a very brief momentary picture break-up, very brief freezing; I'm guessing that this is the powered loop through being enabled. Frankly your comments show you have little or no understanding of the issues involved in splitting a HDMI output to multiple devices with differing capabilities.Sound quality too, is as we’ve come to expect from this class-leading TV; switching to YouTube we play the video for Frightened Rabbit’s Get Out and enjoy as dynamic and expressive a performance as our telly speakers are capable. Through the Humax TV Portal you can directly access BBC iPlayer to catch up on those programmes that you might have missed. Looking for additional entertainment then watch YouTube or listen to internet radio, additional apps are also available to enhance your viewing pleasure.

Despite having ZERO problems with any of my other Humax boxes, the 2000T refuses to work properly with the hdmi splitter. Why would every other Humax box work but not the 2000T? I used mine with an HDMI splitter, and everytime you switched on the tv the audio on the 2000T had gone until the box was rebooted. Providing the source is of sufficient quality to start with, 1080p upscaling does a goodjob of visibly improving SD TV, and HD transmissions from the BBC in particular are pleasingly detailed. Welcome addition I have asked Humax about this problem and have received replies from two customer service employees.

Humax HDR-2000T review

I’m assuming that running the signal through a hub is just enough of a barrier to cause signal loss whereas running the lead direct the signal is maintained – just. When you connect a hdmi source to a HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) capable destination, the source and destination exchange data that: I wish you well, but basically Humax released a box that was incredibly buggy, and even a couple of firmware updates haven't sorted all the major issues with it. The Humax Freeview box has the ability to show pictures in Full HD quality for stunning colour and sharpness. On demand and Catch up programmes are also available in HD. Audio output is highlighted by Dolby Digital Plus and Pulse sound, so you get the purest and cleanest cinema sound in your living room. The “On Demand” button displays the most popular Catch-up services, which are all in one place, providing easy access to the the world of iPlayer, ITV Hub, ALL4, Demand 5 and UKTV

HDR-2000T is a Freeview+ box and has limited on demand services. It can however export recordings for use with other kit. (Even HD using a small programme by Raydon). It also has DLNA server and client, so you can remotely view SD recordings on other kit like smart phones and tablets. It can also replay content stored on other kit (like a PC). Additionally it has manual timers and autopadding. It does however appear to have HDMI handshake issues with some TV's. Once the 2000T released the connection the TVs own tuner would take over again and we could continue watching the programme. It has taken quite some time to carry out the tests as I notice that even if you set a programme to record that is some thirty minutes in the future, the HDMI port remains active even though the partial wake state doesn’t begin until 15 minutes before record time.Identifies the video capability of the destination, and informs the source to provide a video format the destination can support. The 500GB hard disk and dual tuner are standard fare these days, but less common is the range of network features, which includes a range of internet content and DLNA streaming of media files across a home network. Hi, I am replacing my Humax PVR 9300 and I think I have narrowed it down to either the HDR-2000T or the DTR-T1000, can anyone explain if there is much difference. Thank you. It needs a reasonably good signal, I'm guessing one that can at least be split OK without using a powered splitter. My TV has fairly good tuners and demodulators including good error correction. When I use an aerial feed with a good signal and pass it through the HDR-2000T with power saving on, my TV shows a 100% quality picture though looking at the error correction count within the TV's menus there is a error correction going on compared to zero error correction when loop through is enabled. It's nothing to do with Humax or any other makers, it's purely down to the limitations of the EDID data exchange between different makers destination devices.
