The resolution is 1,920 x 1,200. The test data comes from the HONOR Laboratory. Actual size may vary depending on the configuration, manufacturing process, and measurement method. The measurement data standard calculates the screen ratio based on the area of the screen's visible area to the area of the front panel of the whole device. Honor has achieved a solid tablet debut with the Pad 8. If you are looking for a mid-range Android device that is large as possible and cheap as possible at the same time, Honor's 12-inch tablet is the right candidate because there are currently no cheaper alternatives in this form factor. This screen size makes it one of the biggest tablets we’ve seen, save for premium models like the iPad Pro 12.9 or Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus or Ultra. HONOR FullView Display is a common concept in the industry, usually referring to a screen with narrow bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio.

The Honor Pad 8 has 22.5W charging when you need to top up that big battery again, and while that might sound like a decent rating for a modest tablet, it does still mean that charging is going to take a while to complete.

Software - Android 12 with productivity features

In view of the low price, it is clear that Honor had to cut corners in some areas, such as the Wi-Fi module, which is limited to Wi-Fi 5, and the missing microSD slot. Moreover, the hardware falls a little short in some areas, which is particularly evident in the not too bright IPS display and the SoC. There’s 128GB storage, which isn’t too bad for a tablet of this price, and will likely be enough for most users – if you do need more, though, a microSD card slot gives you up to 512GB extra space. Honor Pad 8 software As is tradition, you can’t review an Android tablet without complaining about the software experience. While iPadOS has come along in leaps and bounds over the years, Android’s big-screen experience still feels like an afterthought. The eight-core processor helps the Honor Pad 8 achieve a solid system speed, but does not turn the tablet into a racehorse. Operation is mostly smooth in everyday use, but small stutters occur from time to time. Several open apps may push the Honor to limits, depending on the application. If games run smoothly, this is usually due to compromises in graphics details.

A much-welcome software feature is multi-window viewing, including a split-screen mode that is really useful for multi-tasking between two different apps as the same time in a way that’s a little closer to the desktop experience with a screen as big as this one. Battery Life For some people, these tasks are all you’ll want a tablet for, and if that’s you the Honor Pad 8 will be a fine budget option. But there are lots of other equally viable options on the market for those buyers too. Honor Pad 8 price and availability Unveiled at the annual tech event IFA 2022 in September 2022, the Honor Pad 8 went on sale immediately after. Photos and videos taken by the main and selfie camera are of modest quality. As a result, photos are not particularly sharp and are always somewhat washed out. On other hand, both cameras together reproduce colors quite vividly and realistically. However, the main camera cannot cope with low-light shots and hardly brings out details. This feature is only available for HONOR Smartphones running Magic UI 3.0 and above version. If you have anyThe data comes from the HONOR Laboratory. Actual data may vary depending on the configuration, manufacturing process, and measurement method. The resolution is 1200 x 2000, which technically counts as 2K, though its use of LCD tech and 60Hz refresh rate means it’s not the best-looking display around. Two software features of Magic UI 6.1 take advantage of the 12-inch tablet's screen size: multi-windows mode and cross-screen working. Multi-windows mode is not supported by every app, but it functioned flawlessly with a number of apps in our tests, including YouTube, Chrome, Google Photos and Honor's own note-taking app, Memo.

The tablet generally feels sluggish to navigate, but the issues were worse for things like games or heavier apps. We tried to play Northgard and it kept stuttering, freezing and even crashing, and that’s not even the most top-end game we normally try. The Honor Pad 8 is a gigantic slab of metal and glass. Its unibody construction isn’t out of the ordinary, but the clean-cut edges, brushed aluminium rear and rounded corners do look rather swish. Weighing only 520g, it’s not too heavy, and an added bonus is that it’s also thinner than the 2021 iPad at just 6.9mm.This feature is only available for HONOR Smartphones running Magic UI 3.0 and above version. If you have Still, at least the Honor Pad 8 isn’t hamstrung with a restricted version of Android like Huawei’s mobile offerings. All the Google apps are there, and the entire Play Store library is at your fingertips. There weren’t any bloatware apps pre-installed on my review device, either, which is always a big bonus. The APP must support this feature, the actual effect will depend on the APP, the feature will update There’s a Snapdragon 680 chipset here, which is admittedly low-end, but it hasn’t felt as slow on other (mainly smartphone) gadgets we’ve used it on. It’s paired with 4GB RAM, which in and of itself isn’t a red flag, but they don’t work well here. The Honor Pad 8 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This is a low-cost processor favoured by budget smartphone makers including Xiaomi and Realme, and in practical terms it doesn’t do anything remotely special.
