About this deal

The Hoover Breeze Evo is intuitive to use for floor cleaning. There are two foot pedals, one to recline the vacuum and another to switch it on, making it convenient to use. We also like that the Breeze has a rotary dial to adjust the height of the brush bar, allowing you to clean different surfaces with relative ease. As the two Breeze Evo vacuums are almost identical in design, however, we’re not surprised they have similar issues. One of those is the crowded appearance, which is even worse on the Breeze Evo Pets due to the extra tool. While there is onboard storage, it’s often easier to just store the attachment elsewhere.

Not sure whether to buy the Hoover Breeze Evo? Here’s our review of this popular budget vacuum cleaner. As you would expect from a budget vacuum, however, the Breeze Evo feels flimsy compared to pricier vacs. You’ll also need to spend longer cleaning than you would with a vacuum with better suction. In our opinion, the main downfall to this Hoover is edge cleaning. The bulky floorhead isn’t quite capable of getting larger debris from the edges of skirting boards and furniture. It leaves a wall of mess, which then means you have to go through the hassle of swapping hoses and attachments over to clean the last bits. The Hoover Breeze Evo uses standard washable filters. They’re effective enough at retaining dust and dirt, but they tend to clog fairly easily and need regular maintenance to maintain suction. You can also raise or lower the brush roll depending on the floor type. The lowest setting is great for deep cleaning carpets, while raising the brush off the floor makes it suitable for delicate surfaces. It’s a simple process to change the height by twisting the rotary dial on the floorhead. The canister is transparent plastic and there’s a “MAX” line showing when it needs emptying. One button removes the canister from the vacuum and another opens the trap door, so you can hold it in a bin bag to help stop dirt from spilling out.

There’s a wide range of tools included with this Hoover. Along with the pet tool, there’s also Hoover’s longest crevice tool, a 2-in-1 dusting brush and furniture nozzle, and an extension tube. This is a pretty standard range of non-motorised accessories, although it is nice to see a longer crevice tool than you find on a lot of modern vacs. Yes, the Hoover Breeze Evo has washable filters. These need to be cleaned frequently to maintain the vacuum’s performance. Verdict When it’s time to use the tools, changing the hoses and tools over is a fiddly job. You need to disconnect and reconnect hoses and attachments each time. This is our main gripe with the cleaning performance of the Breeze Evo, especially as the main floorhead doesn’t manage edges too well, so you’ll need to use tools frequently.Hoover has also included five height settings for the brush roll to suit different floors. On hard floors, for example, you can raise the brush to protect the surface and avoid sending debris scattering across the floor. These settings are adjusted using a simple rotary dial – there are no foot controls like on some pricier vacuums.
