Tikkinen, K. A., Tammela, T. L., Huhtala, H., & Auvinen, A. (2006). Is nocturia equally common among men and women? A population based study in Finland. The Journal of Urology, 175(2), 596–600. The scope of the Regulations will be extended from January 2019 to cover further categories of electric and electronic equipment (EEE) (see Schedules 3 and 4 of the Regulations for more information) Treatment of WEEE

Anyway, cheers for the welcome and responses...I said I would share a story of my own, so here goes!! Other tests include a urine culture and post-void residual urine measurements. This test takes an ultrasound of the pelvic area to see how much urine remains in the bladder after urination. https://www.uptodate.com/contents/nocturia-clinical-presentation-evaluation-and-management-in-adults

The signs of constipation can be easy to miss particularly in younger children. They include pooing fewer than four times a week, passing hard, large poos or frequently passing lots of soft and/or runny poo. Behaviours such as refusing to sit on the potty or toilet, holding on to poo and having wee and poo accidents are also signs of constipation. Poo or wee holding is usually caused by fear and anxiety around the process. Sometimes this is caused by the sudden change from nappies to no nappies. Many children benefit from smaller steps in the process. This might mean, for example, starting by helping them learn that wee and poo go in the bathroom and allowing them to use a nappy when they do a wee and poo, then gradually reducing dependence on the nappy over a few weeks. To better understand your symptoms, your doctor will likely ask questions about your medical history and complete a physical examination. One of the clearest examples is obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which causes repeated pauses in breathing during the night. OSA repeatedly reduces airflow and oxygen levels during sleep and influences hormones in a way that increases urine production. On top of that, people with OSA have frequent sleep interruptions, so they are more likely to notice the need to urinate. Nocturia occurs in around 50% of people with OSA. Capacitors containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) - Historically PCBs were used extensively in electrical equipment such as capacitors and transformers. However, their use in open applications was widely banned in 1972 and they have not been used in the manufacture of new equipment since 1986. Plants that had been installed prior to 1986 were allowed to continue until the end of their working life. Thus it should be assumed that capacitors manufactured before 1976 contain PCBs. However, unless an appliance is more that 20 years old the chance that it contains capacitors containing PCBs is very remote. All uses of PCBs were to be phased out by the year 2000. For guidance re capacitors containing polychlorinated biphenyls see " Do you know how to work safely with PCBs?I now make sure I go as and when I can as when you really NEED to go, a toilet isn't working, or you cant get to one! The pain can range from mild to severe. In severe cases, Moore says you may even go to the bathroom about 50 times a day. The condition is much more common in women than men. If your child gets very upset without a nappy or pull-up on, or starts to avoid doing a wee or poo, it could be a sign that your child is constipated. Duffy, J. F., Scheuermaier, K., & Loughlin, K. R. (2016). Age-related sleep disruption and reduction in the circadian rhythm of urine output: Contribution to nocturia? Current Aging Science, 9(1), 34–43. The lower urinary tract includes the bladder and the tube that urine passes through as it leaves the body (urethra).

Long-term infections are linked to an increased risk of bladder cancer in people aged 60 and over. Things you can try yourself Then it's the last mile. You've not found anywhere to stop for a pee, you've not passed any services, you've jigged and weaved and driven like a moron. All the traffic lights are red. You jig about and say under your breathe, "Need a wee, need a wee," over and over. Motion-activated, low-wattage lighting can make it easier to walk safely to and from the bathroom. The path should be cleared of common trip hazards like cords or rugs. People with mobility issues or who have high urgency to urinate upon awakening may find that a bedside urinal or commode improves safety and reduces sleep disruption. Sleep Hygiene Electrical safety – in particular if any element of refurbishment is being carried out consider electrical testing issues. While needing to wee fairly often can be perfectly normal, if you need to urinate so frequently that it interferes with your work, your hobbies or your sleep, you might have a problem that needs investigating. So, what is normal? In men, prostate issues, particularly an enlarged prostate, can cause frequent urges to pee, Krishnan says. As we age, the body produces less of the antidiuretic hormone that helps us retain fluid. This results in increased urine production, especially at night. Muscles in the bladder can also become weak over time, making it more difficult to hold urine in the bladder.

Nocturia frequently occurs during pregnancy but usually goes away within three months after giving birth. Nocturia is not the same thing as bedwetting, which is also known as nocturnal enuresis. Unlike nocturia, which involves waking up and recognizing the need to urinate, bedwetting typically occurs involuntarily and without the sensation of having a full bladder. Some of the possible causes lead to short-term urinar How I didn't wet myself I shall never ever know, every jolt of the train made that prospect more likely and every spasm in my belly and bladder made me push my legs together more tightly together than ever before. I was almost in tears of pain by the time we pulled into wembley park and I could hardly walk to the gents which was right at the end of the platform. If that one had been closed as well (which thankfully it wasn't) I'd have been stood in a puddle, of that there is no doubt at all. The following summary is based largely on the DEFRA document Guidance on Best Available Treatment Recovery and Recycling Techniques (BATRRT) and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Some people take cystitis sachets or cranberry drinks and products every day to prevent cystitis from happening, which might help. However, there’s no evidence they help ease symptoms or treat cystitis if the infection has already started. A pharmacist can help with cystitis
