Ispaghula Husk Orange - (30 sachets) is a source of water-soluble fibre in the form of granules for oral suspension as well as a bulking agent in a pleasing orange flavoured food supplement. Fybogel sachets and Fybogel Hi-Fibre sachets both contain the active ingredient ispaghula husk 3.5g, which is a type of medicine called a bulk-forming laxative. This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) in each sachet, that is to say essentially 'sodium-free'.
If you experience any other symptoms which you think may be due to this medicine, speak with your doctor or pharmacist. If symptoms persist longer than 3 days, the patient should consult a doctor or healthcare professional. Children aged 6 to 12 years: Half to one level 5 ml spoonful, depending on age and size, morning and eveningyou're breathing very fast or struggling to breathe (you may become very wheezy or feel like you're choking or gasping for air) Each dose of Fybogel granules must be stirred into a glass containing at least 150ml water. Drink it all as soon as the fizzing dies down and all the granules have dissolved.
If you have chronic watery diarrhoea, the isphaghula helps by absorbing the excess water and adding bulk to your poo. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding. (Ispaghula husk may be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding, but it is important that your doctor or pharmacist knows about this.) The last dose should not be taken immediately before going to sleep since impaired or reduced gastric motility may impair the intestinal passage and then cause sub-obstruction.Medicines and their possible side effects can affect people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that may be associated with Fybogel. Just because a side effect is stated here doesn't mean that all people taking Fybogel will experience that or any side effect. A severe electrolyte imbalance can cause serious health problems, such as muscle spasm and twitching, and or even cause a seizure or fit. Other side effects

Long-term side effects Adults and children over 12 years: Take one sachet in the morning and one in the evening, preferably after meals. You should only use Fybogel if it's not possible to increase your dietary intake of fibre, for example with bran. 💡Key facts about Fybogel
Some people may have a mild allergic reaction to Fybogel, for example a runny nose, or itchy eyes or skin. If you think you're allergic to Fybogel stop taking it and get advice from your pharmacist or doctor. Sometimes it may take a few days before you feel the full benefit from a bulk-forming laxative such as ispaghula husk. However, if after several days you do not feel your symptoms are improving, or if they get worse, speak with your doctor.
