About this deal

When carrying a baby or toddler, it's ideal to ensure the carrier supports them across the whole of their seated width, i.e. from one knee to the other. This ensures the carrier supports more of their weight, so they feel lighter on you! Have you ever tried to use a baby carrier that feels like it’s a puzzle to actually get it on? And then you need to figure out how to get the baby inside! You shouldn’t need a degree to use a baby carrier! I used it all the time when Joseph was little and wobbly headed but now I just put it up when he’s asleep. When he’s awake he prefers it to be down so he can look out. I’ve been using the Izmi baby carrier for a few months now. Despite having a couple of baby carriers, the Izmi carrier has become my go-to carrier thanks to the small size, soft structure and comfort for both me and Joseph. The body panel width of Izmi Baby Carriers extends from 18cm-41cm (7"-16") and they have been weight tested to a max weight of 16kg (33lbs). We recommend Izmi Baby Carriers for 0-12 month olds of average weight/height.

Tightening your carrier (usually) or loosening it (sometimes) just a few centimetres here and there can make a vast difference. As can positioning the waistband higher up on your body. The clue is in the name: it’s a WAISTband, not a hip belt. I loved this product and have already recommended it to my friends. It’s lightweight which means there’s no extra weight when carrying baby and means it’s easy to take with you when going out. The Izmi baby carrier is very easy to fold away and store in the bag that comes with it. Straight out of the box, the carrier feels like it’s made from really good quality material, but it’s also really soft. The teal colour is really lovely and is great because it’s washable. The Izmi baby carrier is surprisingly comfortable for me to wear, especially on the shoulders. It is also endorsed by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute which is really important to me.

Tested by mum Tracie Pointer for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

For You: Designed to fit all mums, dads and carers. Waistband extends from approx 61cm - 132cm (24” - 52”) There is no padding anywhere on the carrier. This may seem like a downside, but actually it is so well designed that padding really isn’t needed, as your baby’s weight is evenly distributed around your body. As a rough rule of thumb: you count as one layer of clothing for your baby, and your Izmi counts as at least another. If you’re indoors, or going for a brisk walk and generating some heat, that’s like adding a third layer. Baby carriers are awesome when you’re wearing them but when you take them off they always seem to be in the way – particularly the structured carriers.

With Izmi Baby Carriers and Wraps suitable for babies from birth to 4 years, you can keep your little ones snug while having your hands free. Our cool, breathable fabrics and zero bulky padding make Izmi the perfect ergonomic baby carrier choice for travel, day trips, and everyday use at home. It's quite a light carrier that is easy to put away and transport and it even comes with its own travel bag. It's very easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. It is also easy to clean, as it is made from fabric and can just be put in the washing machine. There’s also a few different colours to choose from which is always nice! You can read more about the specs of the Izmi baby carrier here and I thought I’d give you the lowdown on why I love it. In very cold weather: as above, with a coat or other warm layer around both of you. Avoid bulky snowsuits to prevent overheating. Keeping your baby close to your body, without bulky fabric between you, will make you more aware of how warm or cool they are. When you head indoors you can easily undo your coat to help prevent them - and you - from overheating. Izmi Baby Carriers grow with your baby. You can extend the width of your carrier with hidden Velcro tabs, and increase the height of your carrier with poppers, to ensure an ergonomic and comfy fit at every age and stage.

The material is a soft brushed cotton which will feel lovely against your baby’s skin. It’s strong yet soft and flexible, supporting the weight of your baby, while giving the comfort of a fabric sling or wrap. You can extend the width of your Izmi Toddler Carrier using the hidden Velcro tabs to ensure an ergonomic and comfy fit as your child grows. It is important to adjust your Izmi tightly around your and your baby to prevent them from slumping, so that their airways are protected. We also have a two year old, George, who doesn’t like being in the pushchair but can’t walk very far. We rarely take a double pushchair because it’s a bulky nuisance, so when George gets tired I pop him in the pushchair and put Joseph in the carrier. I don’t feel like the Izmi carrier adds any extra bulk so is just really easy to take out and about. If you would like to use your Izmi Baby Carrier from 2.3kg/5lbs, be sure to get advice from a babywearing or health professional first. The Izmi Carrier looks beautiful – the colour scheme was simple and chic and the brand is endorsed by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. It’s not as gentle on your hips as other carriers on the market though. What they say: If you have a taller/heavier baby, you may want to size up to an Izmi Toddler Carrier sooner, at around 7-9 months.
