Ash changed to a different swimsuit along with his main clothing in Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire, in which he wore orange trunks with a green and yellow double stripe going down the left side. The same pattern was on the right as well, but appeared only on the waistband and was much smaller. This swimsuit actually appeared once before, in The Pi-Kahuna, but it didn't appear frequently until Ash's adventures in Hoenn. Taking a short break from the Sonic community, in 2016 Jesse started up a parodic Dragon Ball themed channel called theBlueHairedSSJ where he voiced Blue, the fictional owner of the channel. On this channel, Jesse created "Dragon Ball GT Kai" which was supposedly inspired by the old Dragon Ball Z in a Nutshell videos on the early internet. In that series, Jesse voiced most of the characters aside from a few guest appearances, such as MugiMikey voicing Vegeta in episode 2.

In Poké Problem segment for Drawn with the Wind! and Aiming for the Top Floor!, Lana wore a pink and red kimmo dress with Poké Ball designs around it as pajamas. In Adventures in Running Errands!, Bonnie, along with Serena, dressed up as Nurse Joy to help her with the Pokémon while the power within the Pokémon Center was out. In Why Not Give Me a Z-Ring Sometime?, Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet received a purple Z-Power Ring from Nanu. However, in Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!, they decided to leave their Z-Power Ring at their base in Alola.In Sours for the Sweet!, Jessie wore a light-green dress with a white and blue hat, and an orange flower on the side of the hat. She also wore a yellow bracelet on her right wrist. In Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, Ash wore a brown and white shirt with a light brown outline on both sides, turquoise tie in the middle and a Poké Ball pin on one side, and dark gray pants. He also wore a brown hat with a Poké Ball design on one side, and dark brown fingerless gloves and boots. Also, Ash wore a gray defense outfit that Clemont made for him. In Real Life...Inquire Within!, Kiawe wore a nurse outfit similar to the one that the Nurse Joy of Melemele Island wears. In Love at First Flight, Ash wore Juliet's outfit and a wig that looks exactly like her hair to help Romeo talk to her. During the Gourgeist Festival in A Festival Trade! A Festival Farewell?, Jessie and James wore costumes based on a Gourgeist and a Mismagius.

In Battling The Generation Gap!, Jessie, while under the name Jessilina, wore an outfit based on Fantina and had her hair up in the same style. In A Recipe for Success!, Lana, along with her classmates, wore a pink apron that is similar to Mallow's while helping out at her family's restaurant. During the Gourgeist Festival in A Festival Trade! A Festival Farewell?, Ash wore a costume based on a Snorlax. Dawn wore a light-green bikini top with vertical dark green stripes and a light green piece of cloth wrapped around her waist in Expedition to Onix Island!.

In Lillier and the Staff!, Ash wore a Tapu Koko, wizard, Necrozma in its Ultra form, and a Buzzwole costume for a play at the Pokémon School. He also wears an alternate apron, known as the "movie apron" since it is only seen in the Pokémon movies. This apron is bright blue with neon green straps. In Climbing the Tower of Success!, Cilan and his Pansage dressed like Elesa and her Emolga in the costume contest portion of the Wishing Bell Festival.
