About this deal

Compared to Jovoy's L'art de la Guerre rhubarb is much less prominent in the latter, I have an impression that L'art is about something else: the imortelle, the leather, which are more for conesseur noses, while 21 Conduit St. is all about rhubarb and rhubarb is like a theme for this perfume, it stays much longer than just to bring a nice, round opening, like it does in L'art. Don't get me wrong, LADLG is a great perfume, but if your starting your journey with high perfumery and still training your nose you'll find 21CSt. much more pleasing. I must say that I am a big Patchouli Reminiscence fan and it would take a lot for me to appreciate another patchouli version… but it did.

I think Patchouli Imperial has more of a patch scent than this, but may be a bit more challenging as well. It is softer in a way than Private Label perfume and it is like a serious and determined character who can see a smile on his lips and is not frowning The potency, uniqueness, and simple yet complex experience eluded my senses at first. My initial thought; I’ve smelled this, Coromandel. Okay, fair effort Jovoy. Upon engaging in discussion with another fragrant friend she provided me with more details for her love of this. Had I been so wrong?B. We don’t know why we were born, why we are alive, and why we die. So please stop asking further whys and enjoy the ride. I associate lot of golden hues, orange, and brown with Psychadelique. This is a very warm amber-patch perfume and it smells extremely cozy. It will put a smile on your face. When the amber joins in is when Psychédélique has its breakthrough moment. Resinous and salty-sweet, it binds the fragrance with an at once familiar caressing warmth. There it stays to the drydown, part of a well-balanced mix of incumbent notes that maintain their gleam. Jovoy Paris Psychedelique Eau de Parfum was patchouli-driven fragrance where its dark, earthy, and a little camphorous. It smelled like damp soil, just ready for planting bare root roses at the end of winter. Sometimes it gave dusty, dark chocolate with a little mint, but it was earthy before everything else. The rose and geranium lifted the patchouli before amber, vanilla, and musk came through. The drydown was ambered patchouli, but this is a scent for those who like the darker side of patchouli.

IMO this is very wearable and not too dark or pungent patchouli. The patch is heavy but it is so well integrated that at no point do I think it smells hippie, outdated, or like any stinky patchouli oil people wear. I think the reason people might say its too dark or patch heavy is because the fragrance itself is very powerful. Keep it to 1/2 spray and its almost a mass pleasing earthy gourmand or amber. I prefer to be enveloped in the cloud with 4 sprays however. Jovoy Paris is a perfume house founded by Blanche Arvoy in 1923. Four perfumes with animal-shaped bottles were launched for the brand of Jovoy. Blanche started a new house, the house of Corday a year later, which she named after Charlotte Codray, a participant in the French revolution. It ended its production in the beginning of the 1960es. At first, it starts with a very, very sharp bitterness that induces a vegetal state and is special for patchouli. This intense bitterness subsides after ten minutes and becomes more balanced. In this case, it seems that the wet state is added to the previous smell. That is, it is as if you are smelling the roots of a plant that you watered half an hour ago. The name Psychedelique, you can imagine this is going to be wild and creative, but it's kind of borring and uncreative for me. It's just a smooth Amber and Patchouli,, with sweet vanilla. There are no piquant notes, that would add something interesting, like a little spice or something. I have enough great balsamic fragrances for Winter, so I proberbly will not be purchasing it. But I know it's a lot of people's #1 patchouli fragrance. I can see why, it's very warm and pleasant Patchouli, with a bit of the ruff edges smoothed over.As I dig deeper into the earth, I am surrounded by the rich, earthy scent of the forest floor mixing with the dense patchouli oil aroma radiating off my skin. The cool, damp soil feels refreshing against my warm, sweaty hands, providing a soothing relief from the heat of the rising sun. I am enveloped by the darkness of the dense forest, with only the faint glow of the dawn sky peeking through the leaves above. The sound of my shovel digging into the earth echoes through the quiet forest, the only noise breaking the stillness.
