Idk, if I had been a victim of the abuse and the heinous crimes that Selina had to endure, I wouldn't be able to even think about intimacy in the short term. Though a more realistic healing should've taken longer for obvious reasons, I understand that the author had to compromise for the sake of the extension of the book, and also, let's not forget that this is not a personal growth book.
