The same principle of using a single metallic paint as the foundation for a host of different metallic classescan be applied to warm-colored metallics. For example, I can use Citadel Retributor Armour (a gold metallic) as a warm, rich gold, or as a brighter brass color when highlighted with Vallejo Gold Metal Color.

The green is the part that takes the longest on my models. For this, I use the following paints in successive, very thin layers, building up the intensity through successive layers : Caliban Green, Warpstone Glow, Moot Green, Yriel Yellow and finally Skull White. Make sure you let each layer dry before moving onto the new one. The entire time I was using these, I was thinking – if this is possible, why aren’t other companies making metallics like this! I don’t have an answer, maybe the team over at Vallejo have hired some actual wizards. edition models deserve bright red weapon casings! Considering the age of this model, basecoat the area with my everlasting pot of Citadel Mechrite Red. If you don’t live in 2009, I think that Khorne Red is a decent substitute. Leadbelcher is a base coat paint made by Citadel Colour that is intended for for use when painting miniatures. It is an acrylic paint with a matte finish and premium pigments that offer outstanding coverage and facilitate simple color blending. For both novice and seasoned miniature painters, Leadbelcher is a flexible and dependable option that belongs in every palette. Leadbelcher, a fundamental color for miniatures with a metallic and weathered gray tone, can serve as the base for a variety of effects and styles. Its even, smooth finish gives any miniature a hint of grit and realism, making it a top option for those wishing to give their models a more rough appearance. What Armies Of Chaos to paint with LeadbelcherThe Fall of Damnos, Dead Men Walking, and The World Engine all show Necrons as antagonists, but do so in a strong way, with Dead Men Walking considered the strongest of the bunch. These are nothing like the Vallejo Model & Game Color Metallics, nor are they like the Vallejo Model Air or Game Air. Those are totally different and are more like your traditional metallic paints. Using a piece of foam I sponged on some Stormhost Silver . I only did this on areas that would make sense for wear and tear, such as hard edges. This gives a nice worn look in a random pattern. Use this sparingly. With that your model is done! Just base them how you want and you’re good to go. I went with a nice desert look for the Setrakh Dynasty.

I generally don’t leave this gold metallic on a model by itself. I will glaze or apply a wash over it to add some depth and contrast to it. Without some additional work, this gold metallic’s shine will literally outshine other parts of your model. Paint with Grey Knights Steel. It just feels right using the namesake Grey Knight paint for this. I used the standard Grey Knight Steel base loaded into an airbrushI applied this with an airbrush (not the airbrush version of the paint), with a little bit of airbrush medium. However, if you don’t have access to an airbrush, you can brush it on with thin layers. I masked off some of the areas I wanted to remain lead-colored. The Everliving Legion is a collection of short stories focusing on the Necrons and various aspects of their culture. The Novokh Dynasty are close combat monsters on the battlefield, and are visually distinct with a striking red color scheme that uses splashes of white. Once the models are ready to be painted, the first step is to work out what’s getting a metallic treatment, and which parts of the model are “Canoptek stuff” and get the green stone treatment. Here there are distinct design differences to the last segment of the legs that fit the latter, so that’s where I decided to make the split. My recipe for energy weapons is also a modified version of the same.http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?s=c770bc029dd218be5d17fff14fecefeb&showtopic=17678&st=0&p=266494&#entry266494
