There are five characters included in the set, four minifigures and another new Droid figure. As the set is inspired by The Bad Batch, some of the characters have already appeared in recent sets, namely Hunter and Fennec Shand. Both are exactly the same designs as they appear in other sets such as The Bad Batch Shuttle or the Imperial Light Cruiser. The only notable feature for Fennec is the inclusion of both her helmet and hair, previous sets have offered one or the other. At LEGO CON, LEGO have also unveiled 2 new LEGO Star Wars – 75337 AT-TE Walker and 75323 The Justifier. All of this is slated to change, as LEGO has been known to adjust, delay, or straight up cancel kits, but early reports are looking like this will be the Star Wars lineup come the summer. Regardless, let’s break down what’s potentially on the way. The Star Wars license has become so popular for LEGO that several LEGO Star Wars video games have been produced over the years. The games tend to stay true to the actual line of products and encourage creativity and collaboration within their gameplay mechanics. These 2 reveals are huge for LEGO Star Wars fans – I’m mostly happy for Prequel fans who will finally have their modern Commander Cody, who looks pretty good with his scuffed up armour. The Justifier is Cad Bane’s ship, and has been a LONG time coming.Then, from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the 1,082-piece AT-TE Walker is ready for battle! F illed with five 212th clone troopers, including Commander Cody, a trio of Separatist Battle Droid minifigures, and a buildable Dwarf Spider Droid, the kit encourages fans 9 and up to recreate their favorite moments from the Clone Wars at the Battle of Utapau or stage all-new conflicts of their own imagining. The new minifigures in this set really are great, but I'm disappointed Cad Bane didn't get arm printing. Hunter's minifigure, unfortunately as per usual with Bad Batch minifigures, doesn't look great, the helmet brings everything down. A new version of the minifigure will appear in the summer 2013 set 75024 HH-87 Starhopper. This Cad Bane includes his hat and a blaster.

The Bad Batch, being a sort of sequel series to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has had a few cameo appearances from the latter show. Captain Rex, Gregor and Cad Bane have all dropped by. Bane was actually the recipient of a multi-episode arc as the fearsome bounty hunter kidnaps Omega, leaving the rest of the Batchers to rescue her. One of the best features of the ship doesn’t become apparent until the very end of the build. You’ll notice a few gears are featured with the wings of the ship. These connect to the large engine section at the rear. This can be moved forward to raise the landing gears in each wing. It also changes the configuration of the ship, with this rear section towering over the rest of the ship when in flight mode. What I really like about this mechanism is how simple it is. There are no complex gear systems in place, just a couple of gears and a couple of Technic beams. Unfortunately, the beams which run between the wings and the tail is visible along the top of the ship. Another interesting feature is a small panel found on the engine tail, it uses a very odd build technique, of plates slotting in-between studs. Not something you see very often in a LEGO set but the resulting design does look great. The ship has had hardly any screen-time to my knowledge in any of the two animated SW series (I never watched all of the Clone war stuff (6 or 7 seasons in total?!), plus it is such a long time ago), and I don't recall seeing it in the Boba Fett TV-series. The Lego designer could have used that to his advantage and taken the liberty to create something spectacular. Further to the advantages for play and display, shortening the engine boom creates additional space at the centre of the fuselage. The designer has accordingly provided a small cargo bay, which is accessible through an opening hatch. However, there is nothing to secure any cargo inside, so the whole concept seems somehow incomplete.
