Description

The more time we spend with this wonderful picture book, the more we love it and the more we hope it gets into the hands of children around the world. I love to walk and so I just had to give this book a shot. What kind of things would they discuss on what you can do and discover on a walk? This fab interactive book will make for great reading with young children just before a walk and then to use throughout the walk. I'd rather face a polar bear than step on the dancefloor': Strictly's Hamza Yassin on salsa, Scotland and singledom". the Guardian. 10 November 2022 . Retrieved 12 November 2022.

Take this book with you on any walk, wherever you live, with suggestions from Ranger Hamza for things to look out for. Can you see a red thing? A tall thing? Can you find something smooth, and something rough? What can you smell, and what can you hear? As well as things to spot on the walk, each spread contains fascinating Hamza facts. The book also helps children to explore their senses. What can you smell right now when you sniff the air? What sounds can you hear? There are also lots of examples for children to try and spot in their own surroundings. Let's Go For A Walk is a fantastic interactive picture book that you can take with you on walks or hikes and read aloud to Littles to prompt them to use all of their senses to experience the world around them. Hamza started his journey at the beginning of this year with a desire to film his favourite raptors. He finishes it with hope for the future, having experiences and conversations along the way which he will never forget.

Hamza Yassin’s true passion is for nature, and he regularly roams the outdoors to capture its beauty on film as a wildlife cameraman. Green, Alex (19 September 2021). "Four celebrities to explore Scottish wildlife in Channel 4 show". Irish Independent . Retrieved 25 September 2022. Strictly star Hamza can't wait for Scotland's home crowd roar". BBC News. 2 February 2023 . Retrieved 4 February 2023. Not only does it focus on nature and immersing yourself in it, but it also includes educational suggestions to do on the go, such as finding the alphabet or numbers in your everyday surroundings, from street signs to billboards, and encourages learning in all its many forms. As an early years educator, I think this book is a must have to support young children and a great way to promote exercise and getting outdoors!

But while none of these are new to me (even as a kid I looked all around me and dashed left and right to see everything, haha, hello ADHD), I am sure that many kids could use a reminder that a walk is not just walking, but also looking, imagining, having fun, collecting, and more. Birds of prey are powerful, majestic, beautiful, charismatic, intelligent. What I think of when I wake up, what I dream about” he says. It is this devotion to birds of prey which propels Hamza across the UK to capture the birds soaring above civilisation. Walking in the country, by the sea, or in the town, so many wonderful things to see if you stop and look around! Go on your very own walk guided by Ranger Hamza with this book that can be used again and again.Colourful illustrations and a mix of rhyming text and factual information bring the book to life. Showing how our surroundings change according to seasonality and time of day, or how any walk is full of sizes and shapes, numbers and letters, loud and quiet, this will be a great hit with any youngster who is curious about their surroundings. In this special film for BBC One and iPlayer, he is on a quest to film his favourite birds of prey – and no corner of the UK is too remote for him to find them. Born in Sudan on 22 February 1990, Yassin moved to Northampton in the UK aged eight, not knowing any English. [2] After being diagnosed as dyslexic as a teenager while a student at Wellingborough School, [3] he was supported throughout the rest of his studies. [4] He went on to achieve a degree in Zoology with Conservation from Bangor University and a Masters in Biological Photography and Imaging from the University of Nottingham. [5] [6] Career [ edit ]

An absolutely fantastic nature-based picture book that urges families outside to experience the world!
