Now, Natalie has 'come out' as a naturist and her friends, family and even her clients all know about it. Il progetto è molto intimo, eppure coinvolgente, aperto, pubblico, in continuo divenire. Come mai questa scelta?

A: Usually not. We’re shooting very different people for this project. We always do our best to create a good feeling with our models, but to be turned on, I would say not really, so far. TK: What was your most memorable moment shooting the REALITY PROJECT?
AP: The first shooting was Amazing.
It was like “the first time” for everybody. But we ended up very relaxed and the shooting went very smooth.
I remember a few shootings after when a girl went to another room to take her clothes off. That was very funny!

This is the only time I have been photographed naked. So why did I opt to do this? Maybe because no one had ever asked before. Maybe to look at what six decades of use and abuse looks like in my case. Definitely to join in on this great, joyous fleshy statement about being alive.” Credit: Ponch Hawkes

7. Is it revenge?

All our magazines have been removed and we do not permit magazines/newspapers etc. to be brought in from outside. AP: We’re fascinated by the different kind of bodies and people we meet.

Ultimately, it was thanks to word-of-mouth that Odette’s project finally gathered steam. The initial shoots for the series that was to become ‘Belles Mômes’(Beautiful Girls ) took place in a studio where Odette had previously worked as a life model. After photographing her first subject, Sylviane, Odette found that the more images she accumulated, the more material she could show her prospective models to reassure them: “I think people can see there’s nothing degrading in my pictures.” The couple’s internet presence aimed both to showcase their fun adventures, and provide information on the naturist lifestyle, and nude-friendly resorts across the world. Set in the broader Flesh After Fifty program, the idea for Hawkes’ exhibition, 500 Strong, was to take nude portraits of 500 women. The final count ended up at about 420 after the project took longer than expected and the budget ran out.She said that the reaction she has had from people has mostly been positive, with the only 'negative' responses just being from people who are mostly curious as to why she would want to get naked in front of other people.
