As an example, the first and most simple Type is Basic Waves. In this algorithm the Wave encoder morphs between a square and sawtooth wave, the Timbre adjusts symmetry (providing pulse‑width modulation), and the Shape knob mixes in a sub‑oscillator. I'd advise to buy good effects with the synth, gear or plug-ins, at least one good reverb, this really worth it. To hook up modulation, spin the Matrix encoder to select a specific crossing point between source and destination, indent it to activate, then turn the knob left or right to apply negative or positive modulation. And here is the real benefit… twenty-five touch-sensitive keys that have Polyphonic Aftertouch. The touch-plate is pressure sensitive, which makes it a very expressive keyboard. Those features alone at this price point is amazing and worth the low cost of this "Freak" Synth. I now use this Keyboard via MIDI to play my Hydrasynth Desktop so I can take advantage of the Hydrasynths Polyphonic AfterTouch! Finally, to take full advantage of the update, you should also send the new Factory preset from V5 to your MicroFreak. There are bugs (to solve) and there are feature requests (to) add. The beta testers come into play and they also provide their own scope as actual users. They’re not part of the company so they don’t have this bias that we may already have, knowing what the thing is going to be. They have a new eye on the instrument.
