About this deal

The story is told in third person. The plot is about Olivia filming who in London with her ex boyfriend and Ivy becomes popular at high school. The intended audience is for young-teen and the genre is fiction because vampires aren’t real. The author kept me interested because it is easy to read and there aren’t that many hard words. The author’s style is contemporary so that young teen can relate to the characters in the story. This book is called "My sister is a vampire" and it's written by Sienna Mercer. Sienna Mercer is Canadian. She writes book for children. This book is fiction but could be realistic fiction. The story could also be mystery because it's a sequel so every end of the books are mysterious so it makes you want to read the rest of the books. Spooktacular!– Olivia Abbott is used to vampires. . . after all, her twin sister Ivy is one! But she’s never believed in ghosts. That all changes at the Café Creative Halloween party, when Olivia meets a beautiful girl who’s dressed in a strange red gown and behaving super spookily! Ivy isn’t convinced. . . until she learns the legend of the tragic Calhoun sisters, who died over 100 years ago. Could Franklin Grove be haunted? One thing’s for certain-the twins are in for their spookiest Halloween ever!

The secret is out--cheerleader Olivia and vampire Ivy are twins! Now that Ivy and Olivia have told their friends that they're twins, they have to come clean to their adoptive parents. But Ivy's dad doesn't even want to meet Olivia! When the vampire officials realize Olivia knows the truth about vampires, they demand that she pass three tests to prove she's worthy of sharing the secret. Yikes! One thing's for sure--if the sisters can get through this, they can get through anything! Fashion Frightmare!– The Café Creative fashion show is just around the corner, and everyone who’s anyone is ready to strike a pose. Everyone except Ivy, that is. Modeling is her worst nightmare! Twin sister Olivia is there to lend a hand. But soon strutting down the catwalk is the least of their worries, when a priceless accessory goes missing. Is there a couture crook in Franklin Grove? Stake Out! (aka Read It and Creep) – Ivy and Olivia are together again-and not a moment too soon. The whole vampire community is in a flap. Can the twins discover the identity of the mystery blogger who’s determined to expose Franklin Grove’s biggest secret? Hold on to your fangs, vamp fans. It’s time to go undercover! The series follows a pair of long-lost twin sisters named Olivia Abbott and Ivy Vega (they were separated as babies and adopted into different families when they were a year old). After Olivia and her adoptive parents move to the town of Franklin Grove due to a job transfer, Olivia eventually discovers that, in addition to her and Ivy being long-lost twin sisters, Ivy's also a hiding a very grave secret. The kids break down into groups, as you tend to do, but there’s a lot of overlap. Olivia is a cheerleader and simply being a cheerleader is never looked down on. The main female antagonist is also a cheerleader and she’s a fairly typical mean girl, but Olivia helps mitigate the idea that all cheerleaders and popular girls are awful. Ivy is a goth, and overall the book portrays this group sympathetically. But our main male antagonists come from this group. They’re also fairly stereotypical idiotic trouble makers, but it’s interesting that Ivy has to look out for them to some extent because they’re part of her group. Olivia’s best friend is a geek, but she’s completely welcomed into the group of friends and her unique points of view are often useful and validated. Olivia’s boyfriend is a movie star (don’t ask), but underneath it all he’s a pretty normal kid (I guess that’s its own stereotype, but it still fits into the “don’t judge a book by its cover” mentality of the series.). Honesty

Despite that Olivia is a cheerleader in love with pink, and Ivy is a pale goth fanatic, they both become best friends. K samotnej zápletke : tá je celkom jednoduchá a priamočiara, zámena dievčat, kde jedna bude roztlieskavačkou a druhá organizátorkou plesu. Vampalicious!– Ivy and Olivia can’t lose each other again! Even though twin sisters Ivy and Olivia, separated at birth, have only been reunited for a few months, they can’t imagine life without each other. But Mr. Vega has decided to move to Europe-and he’s taking Ivy with him! Oh, no! With Olivia’s cheerleader optimism and Ivy’s vampire craftiness, they’re determined to come up with a plan that will keep Ivy and her dad in Franklin Grove. But what? Re-Vamped!– The secret is out-cheerleader Olivia and vampire Ivy are twins! Now that Ivy and Olivia have told their friends that they’re twins, they have to come clean to their adoptive parents. But Ivy’s dad doesn’t even want to meet Olivia! When the vampire officials realize Olivia knows the truth about vampires, they demand that she pass three tests to prove she’s worthy of sharing the secret. Yikes! One thing’s for sure-if the sisters can get through this, they can get through anything.

I think my daughter feels a special connection to the series because she is adopted and hopes one day to meet her own sister. I am enjoying the humor and appreciate that the message of tolerance for differences for an age group that needs the message badly. Uznávam, že asi už mám viac ako cieľová skupina mid-grade, ale táto kniha bola osviežujúcim prekvapením. Of course, when it comes to the mysterious question about the life of a vampire (as well as whether or not it’s supposedly “false” and “empty” as Lady Veronica puts it), no two answers are the same; they’re as different as two snowflakes (meaning the well-known snowflake analogy, to be precise). It was cute; two long lost twins meet each other after 12 years of separation, and turns out, one of them is a vampire, while the other is a "bunny". Because they're twins, they're able to switch places when one or both of them needs help in something, and they become closer in the process. Much better,” said Mom—but she was looking at Tim and Sarah suspiciously. “He’s coming home from the hospital next week. Now what’s all this about an accident? Aunt Clara, are you all right?”

Recommendation

He wondered, as he brushed his teeth, if he should invite Aunt Clara to the Iron Boy so she could see that he was a real athlete.

My only complaint is that they’re so short. Other than that, I appreciate the relationship the girls have—it isn’t perfect or without tension, but they love each other despite of and because of their differences. Olivia is a perky vegetarian cheerleader and Ivy is a goth vampire with a penchant for rare meat, but they see the good aspects in each other, even if they don’t totally understand or embrace the other’s lifestyle. The boys in their lives are decent secondary characters who aren’t stupid plot devices. Olivia’s best friend is a proud sci-fi geek, a characteristic that isn’t played for laughs. The story takes place at Franklin Grove Middle School Franklin Grove is not your normal middle school. Everything seems dark and dreary. But the kids don't seem to mind, since they are into all things dark. Definitions of family are pretty open in this book. As the whole confusing situation comes to light, differences are embraced and celebrated. Perhaps it’s a little too neat and tidy, but I still like the example that’s set—the people who love the people you love are pretty much family. Scariness Characters: Ivy Vega, Olivia Abbott, Sophia Hewitt, Camilla Edmundson, the Beasts (group) Charlotte, Katie and Alison

Broken Masquerade: The existence of vampires for Olivia. This why no vampire attempts to do anything rash, expect perhaps the beasts Also, I'm really happy that Ivy didn't get easily swept into the popular clique and followed Charlotte like some airhead. Instead she stood up for herself and her sister. I think that was a great positive scene for younger girls. Ivy's character is definitely a model for younger girls as she works hard towards her dream of making the cheerleading squad even though there's a negative force trying to bring her down. The book is about two girls that were adopted when they were just a baby and one of them was a vampire. They both lived completely different lives but met again one day and discovered they were twins. The story takes place when one of the girls moves to a new school where they met. They discovered that they were twins because of similar rings they both had since as long as they could remember and they are tying to find where it came from. The only problem is that they can't find their parent's record, it's like they never existed.

As always, the endings are the greatest and exciting parts about this series. It always ends well and good but also leaves a bit of what will happen next in the following book - which makes you excited for it. That's all really. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them. I was 17 when I first read this book series, now I am 19 and I still have the same reaction to these books as I did two years ago; I wished we got more in depth about the characters and about the fact that Ivy is a vampire. I thought the vampire aspect was going to be more in the open but instead Ivy made sure to hide it from Olivia, so we didn't get to the vampire part of the book till way way later in the book. But these little problems of mine will be fixed in the sequel and we'll be getting more of the characters and more of the vampire world so I'm thrilled to get my hands on the sequel! Ivy eventually reveals to Olivia that she's a vampire (along with most of the other goths in Franklin Grove).I’m fine, really,” said Aunt Clara. “And the children, who should’ve told you I wasn’t here, especially since they said they would, worry or no worry”—she glared at Tim and Sarah—“were looked after by those nice neighbors of yours, the Gibsons...” (p. 184-185) At another point, Lady Veronica, one of the vampires, seems to have a change of heart (which is shown when her eyes suddenly look more human than vampire for once), and admits something she views as important to Sarah and Tim: “But there is a little part of me, of all of us, that keeps a memory of human life, and knows that this life, the vampire life, is false, is empty...” (p. 180) It's really really good. I love Ivy's character the most, maybe its because I see myself through her. I'm not goth though but I definitely feel like Ivy and I are twins - not twins more like clones. And every time she ( Sienna Mercer) describes Brendan Daniels, Ivy's love interest, I see Evan Peters in my head. I dont know why but I love it. Olivia reminds me of my older sister who actually tried out for cheerleading once and she loves fashion and she's girly. Rags to Riches: Date With Destiny has Transylvania maid Tessa marry Prince Alex; the entire novel is based on her wedding. Bear in mind that before, she was a Shrinking Violet in Love Bites. Olivia and Ivy also count. Twin girls separated at the age of one year old find one another at school. One is a Goth/Vampire; the other is a Pink/Bunny cheerleader ("Bunny" being what the vampires in these stories call non-vampires.) Despite their extreme differences in self-expression, they feel an immediate love and appreciation for one another, even before they realize they are twin sisters.
