Dirty Dancing: Limited Collector's Edition* (Steelbook) (US/UK/ Australia via ViaViaion) – 11/16/22 – REVIEW – N4K, DV, DA some elite company, and rightly so, for his uncanny blend of spectacle and structure. Nope balances large narrative engagement with

Peele concentrated on his use of color in the film and, naturally, it becomes a main attraction as they are impressively rendered and stand out against the stark mud tones of the desert setting. Just beautiful! and color depth. Look at a scene at the 1:27:26 mark. The green diner booths are bursting with newfound depth and punch compared to the Blu-ray. Hard Target* (1993) (with corrected sound) ( US/ UK via Universal) – 2/22/22 (originally released 12/7/21) – REVIEW – N4K, DV Candyman: Collector's Edition** (1992 – Theatrical and Unrated Cut) ( US/UK) – 5/24/22 – REVIEW – N4K, DV

Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut* (from the Superman: 5-Film Collection) ( US) – 5/9/23 (delayed from 4/18) – REVIEW – N4K, DA The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy** (Theatrical and Extended) ( US/ UK/ France/ Germany) – 12/1/20 – REVIEW – N4K, DV, DA

Described as an “expansive horror epic,” Nope is led by Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya, who reunited with Peele following the successful release of 2017’s Get Out. Joining him are Keke Palmer ( Hustlers) and Oscar nominee Steven Yeun ( Minari) as they portray residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery. The Infinity Saga Collector's Edition (MCU 23-Film Box Set) (US Best Buy exclusive/UK) – 11/15/19 – DA Primary audio on the 4K disc is offered in a fantastic English Dolby Atmos mix that is—in many ways—an auditory reflection of this imagery. The soundfield if big, wide, and highly atmospheric, enveloping you in the film’s sonic environments. And the mix cleverly blends real natural environmental sounds with eerie little touches that set the listener on edge. Is that the wind howling, or are those human screams? Is that a horse, or something unnatural? Distant music, or something more sinister? You’re never quite sure until the film wants you to be sure. Dialogue is clear at all times, there’s pleasing dynamic range, and the mix features wonderfully deep and rich bass. Additional audio options include 7.1 Spanish Dolby Digital Plus and 5.1 French Dolby Digital, with subtitles available in English SDH, Spanish, and French. If you are a fan of bonus material, then you'll enjoy the extras that accompany this release. Though there is no audio commentary, you'll find plenty to enjoy in either of the three featurettes. The Pace Mostly: For a movie that promised to be elevated horror and potentially very deep, the pacing was decent for this writer. Nope starts out the same style of Peele's work, taking lots of time set up the pieces and give you inklings of how everyone will be connected. Then as the events start to happen, he manages to ramp things up and start focusing on uncovering elements, all while still focusing on that character development. It's the intrigue that pulled me in, trying to see what the next the level to the story was all while trying to discover the twist he had in store. The pace continued to be like that for much of the film, until right about the end where things changed, but for about 75% of the movie, the pace was thrilling for this horror movie.

A Space Odyssey** ( US/ UK) – 12/18/18 (was 11/20, 10/30 & 5/8) – REVIEW – N4K (from an 8K scan), DV plenty of other goings-on to sweeten the pot. Peele has once again built a film that is novel and engaging, stable and confident, and well capable of Greenland* (for STX Films) (No US planned/UK/ Germany) – Released in Germany only on 3/5/21 – REVIEW – N4K
