if you can’t overthrow the Royals, then you join them. The easiest way for me to rise to the top is to be with you." Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines<— Meagan: The other one that I think is super close is abbi glines Rosemary beach series 🙂 ( which I LOVED) ( sidenote from Maryse: YES!!! That is a perfect recommendation. Rush was such an ass at first and I LOVED that! ( my review of Fallen Too Far) I’m still as good looking as ever. Charming and hilarious. My body could be on the cover of a magazine, partly thanks to good genes, but I work on it, too, lifting and football. Nah, I haven’t lost it.

Our two darlings have a long fight in front of them to get to that happily ever after we've always wanted for them. At the Royal mansion, Ella meets four of Callum’s sons: Reed, Easton, Sebastian, and Sawyer. The eldest son, Gideon, is not there, although his presence is still felt at home and at school, where he remains the Royals’ leader in spirit. The boys are poorly behaved. They treat their own father with insolence and are openly hostile to Ella’s presence. The boys even walk away when Callum introduces her, although Ella feels an instant attraction to Reed. Ella learns that their mother, Maria, died under mysterious circumstances and many believe that Callum murdered her. Book #5 starts basically right where we left the Royals in Fallen Heir. In the hospital with twin Seb in very critical condition and with Hartley being blamed for the accident. And Easton being blamed for everything happening in the first place. And then suddenly Hartley collapses and hits her head very hard ... and due to the fall she wakes up and has forgotten the last three years of her complicated life. Could be a good thing, but not when her parents are trying to run her life now and also not when those idiot kids from school - aka Felicity - are telling stupid lies about Hartley's lost time!Amanda: I finished it in one sitting! I had a book hangover in more ways than one! Can’t wait for book 2. Last year, I took a chance on a book called Paper Princess written by two authors that I had never read before, and I think of it as one of the best decisions I’ve made in my whole reading life to date! The Royals is the most addictive and captivating NA series that I have ever read! It was easily one of my favorites of 2016, and it’s just one of my favorites period. I was so excited when this duo announced new books for my favorite Royal boy, Easton! My main man. The Royal who owned my heart. When Twisted Palace ended, I had a lot of questions about Easton. Who’s the mystery girl? Is she the one he told Ella when they were dancing or is it a whole new different person? Will it be smooth-sailing for the Royals from now on? At first, Daniel was very charming and kind to Ella. Reed mentions that he is one of the good guys and is on the lacrosse team and she gets the okay from Easton as well. Savannah warns her about Daniel, though she ignores her. He attends a party with Ella, where she considers herself safe. But later, he drugs her and wants to rape her. Ella can't call for help because she was out of her mind, but she is saved by all five of the Royal brothers. Reed takes Ella home, and the other boys beat up Daniel. Easton and Heartlys relationship for the first 30% of the book also mimics Reed and Ellas from the second book, with Heartly asking (on the verge of begging) Easton to just leave her alone, and Easton completely ignoring that and turns on stalker mode. So attractive.

He's the bad boy of those five brothers. Hm, yeah ok, they are all bad boys. But Easton is his special brand of bad boy. He doesn't care about his last year of high school. He doesn't care about anything. He just wants to enjoy these last moments as a teenager as much as possible. But even having escaped poverty, Ella still has more dragons to slay. In the mansion, she has to live together with Callum’s five sons, all of whom loathe Ella heartily. Hers is the typical Cinderella story, except that for her there is no prince charming to come to her rescue. All of these guys are exceedingly handsome, but the one who takes the prize for being the most handsome is Reed Royal, who unfortunately, is also the one who hates Ella with an even greater passion than all the rest. It is only a matter of time before Ella starts to nurse a soft spot for this cruel prince. Through all the difficulties she goes through in the mansion, Ella comes out as a strong, level- headed, strong- willed yet vulnerable young lady. Her agonies and suffering are enough to bring tears to even the strongest reader, which, in the authors’ own words, is the exact place they intend the readers to be, and many just cannot wait for the story of her redemption to unfold. I hope there will be many more books in this series, because I always eat them up like pizza, chocolate and pop corn. Tessa: Eagle Elite? Yes, read it now! I absolutely loved it. Just pure love. … Eagle Elite series… *swoon* If you can suspend belief, Elite becomes an awesome book. The rest don’t need the suspended belief thing, but are really good. While this was the conclusion of the Royal series, I felt like there was SO MUCH LEFT UNEXPLAINED. Like, what was up with the twins?! They acted super weird and it was only glossed over and never fully explained. A secret about Easton was just tossed out there with no real reaction. And the ending felt super rushed and thrown out there to create some tension and a conclusion. I think they rushed this. That’s all it boils down to. A book that was supposed to come out in January- pushed to March. And then we hear nothing on it for months (except for people begging) and then bam, it’s out. Rushed. It was very sloppy. And to me, as a devoted reader and follower (especially of the Royal family) that is so very sad. I FEEL sad. Ella is mostly similar to her mother in appearance, which made it easy to pass for her, such as height and similar facial features. Her eyes, like her father's, were described as a bluish-gray that resembled the Reed of the Atlantic ocean. Ella has natural golden hair.

But that ending killed me. My babies. My Royals. Trouble seems to love following them, I swear. It’s another cliffhanger, dear friends. Easton had his problems in the previous books; yeah he's a drunk, has an addiction problem, has a thing for his brothers' girlfriends but he had a good side, too. The echo of his footsteps is the only sound I hear for a long while. Even the voices ig my head –the ones I try to drown out with the pills, the booze, and the fighting- that are always there are silenced. In the quiet I feel it. The intense loneliness that I try to keep away. The gaping hole in my heart that I’ve tried to fill with girls, girls, and more girls becomes a canyon that has no bottom, no end. I’m no longer on the edge, staring into the abyss. I’m in it. I’m freefalling in this endless darkness. Tiny little thing I didn't love ... I know it was all so very last minute with the release of the book. They had to get it done fast, but another proof-reader wouldn't have hurt. There are lots of typos and some scenes where stuff is just wrong - continuity they call it on the screen. Like one moment a guy wears only underpants and the next moment the girl takes off his jeans.

What was exciting and riveting reading with Paper Princess, was frustrating and disappointing in Fallen Heir. Easton is one messed up kid who needs to be disciplined and better monitored. His answer to all of his mess ups is throw money at the problem. He regrets each and every one of his mistakes but never learns or grows from them.
