Mastic guns are prone to mix separation and clogging, especially with self-mixes - not a problem with the auger-fed Quikpoint. vdw 850 is a particularly high performance and extremely durable, self compacting, epoxy bound paving jointing mortar for pedestrian, light and medium vehicular traffic loads, including larger vehicles and mechanical road sweepers, pressure water jetting etc, etc. Quikpoint will hold more mortar than the typical mastic gun - typically 2L-3L - so fewer stops to refill. Suitable for extremely fast self compacting aplication, with no delays or waiting (or additional costs!), even in continuously wet weather and at colder temperatures. This is because as the material can be applied in the rain - and in cold (non-freezing) conditions it can still be applied and will continue to cure when temperatures increase above 8-10 degrees C.About Quikpoint TURBO - the significant change when compared to the previous PLUS specification is the new TURBO auger, manufactured in steel and hardened after assembly. It features a reducing diameter spiral which now extends into the delivery nozzle. Field tests have shown improved mortar delivery rate along with the ability to process stiffer and more gritty mixes. Handheld pointing guns are a popular alternative to repointing with a mortar hawk and trowel. They are relatively low cost, lightweight and require no power (other than a strong wrist).
